As Luna, Daphne, and Harry strolled through the city ter, they took in the bustling sights and sounds of Crocell’s rgest metropolis. Storefronts were lined with magical typewriters and ky CRT monitors dispying static-filled Underworld els, all looking fresh and mainst the cobbled streets. Aire shop dedicated to the IBM puters fshed in neon signage, and an odd mix of sleek pad boxy big vehicles shared the streets with pedestrians, though they seemed outpaced by devils simply darting past at supernatural speeds.
"This is… definitely something," Harry said, pausing to take in the eclectic mix of modern tech with a magical twist. "It’s like Diagon Alley decided to fast-forward three hundred years."
Daphne nodded. "This is about as modern as it gets, here in Crocell territory. Some of the older families don’t see the appeal of human teology, but others—like my family—have found it useful for unication and record-keeping."
Luna’s eyes sparkled as she took in the sights. "This is amazing! What are the cars here like?”
Daphne and Harry turo look at a very excited luna who was staring in through a window at the puters.
Daphne smirked, watg Luna’s fasation with the streets. “If you’re this curious about cars, I take you to one of the dealerships after lunch,” she offered. “They’d probably be thrilled to have a princess and her ente e through.”
Luna’s eyes lit up even more. “Oh, that sounds wonderful!” she said, almost boung ooes.
Harry chuckled, shaking his head. “You’ve got her hooked nohhis is going to be iing.”
Daphne shrugged, a smile pying at her lips. “Well, it’ll be good to see if the Underworld’s fi maes live up to the hype.”
“No hurry its just this way and we dont want to be te.” Daphates
Harry, Luna, and Daphrolled up to the café, its warm glow standing out amid the bustling, lively square. The pce was a small shop in the middle of a small city surrounded by massive buildings, with ivy trailing over the brick facade and ented nterns hanging frht iron hooks, casting a gentle, flickering light across the cobblestone.
Daphne slowed her pace as they approached, her gaze softening as she took in the familiar sight. “This café’s been here since before I was born,” she said, a faint smile tugging at her lips. “My family used t me here when I was little.”
Luna’s eyes sparkled as she looked over the building which looks like it was built to be a fantasy cafe. “It’s beautiful, Daphne,” she said, her voice carrying a note of reverence. “And so… enting.”
Harry aking in the cozy se. “It has that timeless feel. I bet its super popur.”
Daphne smiled, pushing open the door for them. The interior matched the outside charm, with polished wooden tables, shelves lined with well-loved books, and the soft hum of versation filling the room. As they ehe rich st of spiced tea and fresh pastries wafted over them, weling them in.
The ma?tre d’, notig Daphne’s arrival, gave a small bow. “Wele, Lady Daphne,” he said smoothly, then g Harry and Luna with polite i. “Your table is ready.”
Daphured for them to follow, her.
Daphhem to a secluded er booth with plush, deep gree seats. As they settled in, the atmosphere felt fortable yet refined, with a mix of Underworld aromas that hi spices and fvors from all realms.
A waiter approached, bowing politely as he handed out menus, embossed with intricate silver designs and written in a blend of on Underworld script and English for visiting humans.
“Anything you'd reend, Daph?” Harry asked, looking over the unfamiliar options with a curious tilt of his head.
Daphne nodded, her firailing down the menu thoughtfully. “The shadow-truffle pasta is a specialty here. It’s not as ominous as it sounds, I promise—it’s actually quite light and savory. And the ented cold brew has a unique fvor you won’t find anywhere else.”
Luna’s eyes sparkled as she skimmed the menu. “I think I’ll try the truffle pasta and maybe some of that cold brew! And ooh, they have a fruit sad from the Abyss? That sounds wild.”
Harry chuckled, looking at Luna with nothing but full affe.
“I think I will try the devils lettud maou burger.” Harry states
“A burger seriously? Nope, I am for you.” Daphates taking away harrys menu.
Harry raised an eyebrow, an amused smirk f as Daphne casually took the menu from his hands. “Didn’t think you’d have such strong opinions on burgers, Daph,” he teased.
Daphne simply shook her head, a pyful glint in her eye. “It’s just a burger, Harry. You’re here in the Underworld, and you’re about to experience more than typical human fare.”
Luna giggled, nudging Harry. “Don’t worry, you’re in good hands. Daphne has great taste.”
“Besides, if it turns out you don’t like it,” Daphne said with a smirk, “you always order the burger as backup.”
The waiter returned, his notepad ready. Daphne fidently ordered the special Infernal Pte, with a side of umbral root crisps. For herself, she went with the shadow-truffle pasta as well, adding the Abyssal fruit sad to share with Luna. Sihe meal was more than enough for both of them.
