Sin Value was the last thing Ye Tianxie cared about, as it could be cleansed with money. Although the price of 1,000 gold per point was unaffordable for most, as long as it was a problem that could be solved with money, it wasn’t a problem for him.
100 gold—after currency exchange became available, this might turn into an amount no one would even bother with. But in the early stages of the game, it was a fortune that couldn't even be bought with money. The hundred gold he had just obtained wasn’t simply a form of punishment; it was going to be a huge advantage for him in the beginner village.
Beginner Class Change Trial!
When players reached level 10, they could accept the class change trial from the village chief. Only those who passed could be sent to the cities of the Destiny world. The trial had five difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, Hard, Nightmare, and Abyss. Players could choose their difficulty, and passing any of them would allow them to complete the trial. The difference lay in the rewards:
- Easy: +1 to all four basic attributes.
- Normal: +2 to all four basic attributes.
- Hard: +3 to all four basic attributes, +1 Luck.
- Nightmare: +4 to all four basic attributes, +1 Luck, +1 Charm, and a randomly chosen level-10 Bronze item.
- Abyss: +5 to all four basic attributes, +1 Luck, +1 Comprehension, +1 Charm, and a Beginner Village Hero Medal. Names of those who passed the Abyss trial would be publicly announced across the entire battle zone and recorded permanently in the Beginner Village Hero Rankings.
The trial could be attempted solo or in teams of up to 12 players.
Currently, the average player level was still far from 10, but Ye Tianxie was already preparing for his class change trial. These 100 gold coins were part of his preparation. He acted carefree and arrogant, but in reality, everything he did had a purpose. Even adjusting his appearance to 20% more attractive wasn’t for vanity but as a way to increase his Charm stat. Just like in the real world, a person with a more pleasing appearance naturally received more goodwill. In contrast, talking to someone with a face full of acne would make most people want to end the conversation as soon as possible. The same logic applied in Destiny. Every NPC in this world had human-like intelligence and emotions.
After circling back to the sealed old woman, Ye Tianxie took out 100 wolf eyes. His backpack still contained more than 200, and he was secretly hoping the old lady would now ask for 200, so he could dramatically pull them out all at once. Items like potions and common materials were stored at 100 per inventory slot.

Ding… You have completed the quest "The Sealed Elder’s Request." You receive the following rewards: 100 EXP, 1 Gold Coin.
Ye Tianxie: "…"
Ten wolf eyes had only given him 10 EXP and 1 silver coin. Now, 100 wolf eyes had earned him 100 EXP and 1 gold coin. He suddenly felt suffocated.
"Thank you, young man. These wolf eyes will be of great help to me. I can see that you are both kind-hearted and brave. Would you be willing to help me collect 1,000 wolf eyes?" The elder's hollow, lifeless eyes stared at him as she repeated nearly the same words as before… except this time, the number had jumped from 100 to 1,000!
Ding… The Sealed Elder has asked you to collect 1,000 wolf eyes. Quest type: Normal. Time limit: None. Reward: Unknown. Accept?
10 to 100, 100 to 1,000… A tenfold increase each time. Would the next request be…?
Ye Tianxie quickly shut down that train of thought and accepted the quest before silently walking away. A thousand wolf eyes—at his collection speed, he could easily gather them within a day. This had to be the final stage of this chain quest.
Ten thousand? No way. A player’s inventory only had 50 slots, and with 100 wolf eyes taking up one slot, 10,000 would require 100 slots. In the beginner village, where there were no items or methods to expand storage capacity, it was impossible for any player to collect that many. Five thousand would likely be the cap.
Ye Tianxie made his way back to Dire Wolf Valley, where the wolf territory he had cleared earlier was now teeming with wolves once again. As soon as they saw him, they howled furiously, as if recognizing the man who had nearly wiped out their entire kind.
Against these wolves, which could no longer threaten him, Ye Tianxie had no trouble at all. Swinging Fate’s Hour, he weaved effortlessly through the wolf packs. After more than half an hour, the entire wolf area had once again been cleared to the last strand of fur. Standing atop a rock, he yawned as he waited for the wolves to respawn.
One thing worth noting—the five Red Leaf Alliance players, whom he had sent back to the respawn point earlier, didn’t come back to die again.
Bored, Ye Tianxie glanced at his EXP bar—and nearly fell off the rock in shock. The EXP required to level up from 3 to 4 was five times that of leveling up from 2 to 3!
If leveling up was already this hard in the beginner stage, what would it be like after leaving the village?
Time passed quickly in the monotonous cycle of wolf hunting. The Dire Wolf Territory was at the entrance of the valley, while deeper inside lurked even stronger wolf-type monsters. But for now, these wolves—whom he could take down in two hits—were the most efficient targets for leveling.
In the world of gaming, if you wanted to become truly powerful, you had to endure the grind of leveling up. Ye Tianxie had long been accustomed to it and had even learned to enjoy it.
The launch of Destiny had made the once-bustling Jinghua streets eerily silent. Its influence extended over all of humanity and would only continue to grow. Perhaps, in the future, human habits and even the structure of the world itself would change because of it.
Since Destiny went live at noon, time had unknowingly ticked away, swinging with greater momentum—afternoon, then into the early night.
