Chapter 11: How to convince your mother figure to let you drop out of school to punch people.

He plucked a flower from the dirt and ate it, before coming home to his older sister.

  "I'm home, sis."

"Oh my lord, thank god you're home safe! Did you get hurt anywhere?! Was it scary?"

Li immediately rushed outside when An opened the frontdoor, without a second of hesitation, she jumped up to hug him around his neck, to which the young man kneeled down to be better embraced by his sister, decompressing with the warmth that she provided.

"It was scary for first timers." An-swered

Li didn't care that it was a half-baked answer that didn't ease her worries. Yet she didn't want to press him any further, she patted An on the head and with a worrisome voice expressed her concerns:

"I don't know why you insist we must move to live near the obelisk... Why you wanted to be a pyer, and why you made me quit my job."

  Li, pouting, added.

"I can provide for both of us, you know... And you should be enrolling in uni soon, then maybe you can get a job if you wanna, but not this..."

An stayed silent, his eyes closed shut to focus purely on Li's scent, the scent of her favorite shampoo, daisy. And the tenderness of her arm around him.

"I wanted answers... And for you to enjoy your life."

  "Answers...?" Li asked.

"I wanted to know who made the Tower of And- Apocolypse. And why."

Suddenly, Li's demeanor changed one-eighty, she slightly pulled An away, arm-length from her, and she stared at him with a stern, and quite serious expression. This was quite the position where he was kneeling and was only around her stomach height.

"Are you sure that is what you wanted, An? It will be dangerous and seriously... We can both work to provide for your future." she asked.

"That is what I want." An said.

Before he could add anymore to his reasonings, Li suddenly pulled him closer to kiss him on the forehead.

"As long as you be nice to everyone, just like was the lord teaches us. And make sure to have lots of friends who'll come to your birthday party. It's your 18th coming up after all."

His mother side was huge devoters, the fact must've affected Li and her viewpoint on life. But it is for the better, An thought, because whenever something goes wrong, she'd be positive about it and get over it with prayers. Though it could be toxic positivity.

"I'll go pray for you and finish up dinner. Congee as promised~"

The young woman, with a bright smile on her chin, skipped away to her bedroom, it was barely 3 steps in their cramped apartment, but it was still worth skipping for according to her.

"Hey Li... Do you know what livestreaming is?"
