Cairo Chase

  ITEM MISSING.

  ITEM DROPPED.

It keeps blinking, but Amen doesn't see it.

His powers are full as he stabs the Madjay to death.

Ziyad fights the others, punching and kicking.

  ITEM PICKED UP.

Amen's display continues its annoying flashing.

He pulls the bloody knife and throws it at Bomani.

It strikes him in his deep, strong chest with a grunt, but not lethally.

Ziyad slams two of his oppressors into each other in a bone breaking collision, then picks up the other and flips him over his body, then slams him into the ground with his weight, crushing his head.

Bomani pulls the knife from his chest with a grunt, tearing flesh. He tosses it aside and starts to run.

Amen clears all of his displays of radar and warnings and percentages

One warning keeps flashing but Amen keeps clearing it.

  He regrets it momentarily.

  A guard pulls a sword.

Amen jumps up and grabs the sword from his hand with a snap, breaking his wrist, then takes the sword and swings, slashing him to the ground.

  He is unbeatable.

The other enemy jumps up, but Ziyad grabs him with his good hand and bad arm and SNAPS his neck in a brutal twist, tossing him to the ground.

  Bomani keeps running.

Aziza throws her body in front of him.

He trips over her with a flip and collapses brutally, but jumps back up, limping for his horse.

  Amen takes a deep breath.

  It was nothing.

He feels invisible. Because he nearly is.

  The display keeps ringing.

Suddenly, his scroll is nowhere to be found.

Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere.

  Amen scans ahead.

  It glows on Bomani's back.

  ITEM GETTING AWAY.

"Are you guys okay?" Amen asks, embarrassed.

  "Yes but -" Aziza starts.

"He's got the scroll," Amen yells, and takes off after Bomani, who is riding his horse hard towards Cairo.

"Cousin! What do we - " Ziyad pleads.

But Amen is too far ahead.

He jumps on one of the dead Madjay's beautiful horses, and takes off.

Amen shakes his head at his pride and cockiness with his full XP.

Bomani now knew the way back, and would plunder it forever.

As the run rises, the two beautiful horses are riding hard across the desert, alongside the broken wall, with Cairo and the Pyramids in the background.

Bomani turns his horse violently, going back towards the outskirts of Cairo.

Amen rides his horse as expertly as Bomani does, each turn of the horse matched.

His horse riding skills and health and stamina are at its fullest...but even then, the Archer had some advantages.

  Like how evil he was.

  Turn, turn. Rear, rear.

Bomani now rides his horse through the small tents and villages on the outskirts of Cairo.

Villagers run and scream as his horse tramples through tents and stands.

A young child runs in the way, and Bomani charges harder.

A man grabs the child and ducks out of the way, just as Bomani’s horse’s feet land in that very spot.

Amen tries to keep up, turning his horse sharply to avoid the child and the man completely.

The Archer turns on his horse, pulling his bow and arrow. He shoots at Amen.

The world slows almost to a stop in Amen's display...

  INCOMING.

Amen rears his horse mightily, as the arrow goes underneath the beast and it strikes the ground.

Bomani spits angrily, riding towards the city gate.

  Amen takes off again.

  Suddenly, his display flashes.

A villager runs and tosses Amen a spear as he is riding hard.

Amen nods at him and catches it in a brilliant acrobatic display, while riding full speed on the horse.

  The villagers start to cheer.

Amen lifts his arm with the spear, while guiding the horse with the other and throws the spear.

Bomani turns his horse back towards the city, as the spear hits a wall, and his horse hits a stand of goods.

The goods flip over as he rides hard into the center of Cairo.

Amen waits before he chases him in.

All of Cairo lays before him. The chatter and guards and the percentages of survival start plummeting if he rides hard into the center of town.

The scroll keeps glowing before him.

Amen's eyes glow blue in his mirror image of his display.

He rears the horse again and takes off into the center of the city after the Madjay.
