Cayde woke up to a gentle chiming sound. Their AI friend, Nova, floated nearby. Nova looked like a shiny silver ball about the size of a grapefruit. Its surface glowed with soft blue light that pulsed as it spoke.

  "Good morning, Cayde!" Nova chirped. "Time to get up. You have a field trip today!"

  Cayde groaned and pulled the blanket over their head. "Five more minutes, Nova."

  At the word "Earth," Cayde sat up quickly. They looked at the big screen on their wall. It showed a moving picture of Earth, with swirling clouds and blue oceans.

  "Nova, zoom in on North America," Cayde said excitedly.

  The picture got closer, showing the east coast of North America. Cayde could see tiny cities and roads.

  "Looks like a busy day," Cayde said to Nova.

  Cayde went to their closet and touched a screen. "What should I wear today, Nova?" they asked.

  "How about something Earth-inspired for your field trip?" Nova suggested.

  Cayde nodded and designed an outfit on the screen. In seconds, the closet made a pair of blue jeans and a t-shirt with a NASA logo on it. Cayde carefully laced their Converse sneakers as they thought about their upcoming day.

  After getting dressed, Cayde stepped into a small room where tiny robots cleaned them up in seconds. Their skin sparkled and their wavy dark hair looked perfect.

  In the kitchen, Cayde touched a shiny cube on the counter. It lit up and said, "Good morning, Cayde. How about a cheese omelet with rainbow vegetables for breakfast?"

  "Sounds yummy," Cayde said.

  The cube hummed and a plate appeared on top. The omelet looked fluffy and delicious, with bits of colorful veggies peeking out.

  As they ate, Cayde wondered what Earth kids had for breakfast. Probably not 3D-printed omelets, they thought with a smile.

  "Time to go, Cayde," Nova said, floating near the door. "Dr. Zyx is waiting."

  Cayde gulped down the last of their omelet and headed out, excited for their Earth adventure.
