Chapter 4
For several weeks, Jake diligently honed his dragon powers, a rigorous pursuit balanced by cherished moments with his companions. Lao Shi, wise and perceptive, recognized the crucial need for Jake to achieve mastery, yet equally valued the importance of a full and vibrant existence for his beloved grandson.
In that critical juncture, Jake thwarted Professor Rotwood's nefarious scheme to pilfer Taranushi's Chalice and unleash its malevolent power. The memory of his and Fu Dog's previous, regrettable failure to safeguard the artifact gnawed at him. This time, however, Jake strategically deposited the chalice in a heavily fortified sanctuary close to his residence, a location shrouded by potent enchantments, ensuring access solely to himself, Lao Shi, and Fu Dog.
OoOoOoOoOoO
Jake was sitting at the dining room table, doing homework. Upon arriving home after school, he was tempted to watch television but decided to do some schoolwork instead.
After completing his homework, he realized that Rose's birthday was coming up. Not only was he planning on surprising her, but it was to be the day that Rose reunited with her family. He was hoping that they would recognize her.
Jake retrieved a glass of water and went into the living room to turn on the television. Before he could, Haley skipped into the room. She had a report card in one hand and a lollipop in the other.
"Guess what, Jake? I got all A's on my report card!" she exclaimed before holding up her report card for her older brother to see.
"That's nice, Haley," Jake replied with a smile. "Better than I did when I was your age. If I recall correctly, I didn't even have one A or a B." He grinned sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Nope! It was three C's, a C minus, and a D!" Haley replied as she held up Jake's old report card. "I'm going to put them both up on the fridge."
Jake shook his head in dismay, but Haley ignored this. "Anyway, I'd offer you some of my lollipop, but you already have four cavities. What's it like to have a cavity?"
Recognizing what was going to happen next, Jake's eyes widened. "Haley, wait!"
Unfortunately, he said it a moment too late, as Haley bit down on the lollipop. Her eyes went wide before she screamed in agony.
"Haley! Are you okay?" Jake asked with concern.
Susan and Jonathan rushed into the room with uneasy looks on their faces.
"Haley! What's the matter?" Susan asked worriedly.
"We heard you scream. What happened?" Jonathan wondered, concerned.
"My tooth is all wiggly!" Haley said, wiggling her fanged tooth.
Susan gasped in delight as her worry quickly vanished. "It's your first loose tooth! Finally! Camera! Get the camera!" She zipped out of the room, leaving Jake in stunned silence.
Jonathan patted Haley on the head and smiled. "You know, Haley, when that tooth falls out, the magical tooth fairy will come visit while you sleep and leave a dollar under your pillow."
"A dollar? Is that open for negotiation?" Haley asked before grinning brightly. She opened her mouth to show off her loose tooth.
While Jake was happy for his younger sister to be losing her first tooth, he realized that it would also put her in danger. As the tooth was a dragon tooth, it held mystical powers. He recalled how Dr. Diente, the evil assistant to the Tooth Fairy, waited for his opportunity to obtain a dragon tooth. Once he found out about Haley's loose tooth, he would kidnap her to obtain power. Jake remembered how according to legend, if anyone planted a dragon tooth in soil, unspeakable evils would be unleashed upon Earth.
This time around, Jake was going to ensure that Dr. Diente would not be able to lay so much as a finger on Haley. He remembered wanting to go to a concert of his favorite singer Shaniqua. However, he realized that it was far more important to keep Haley safe. No concert was worth putting his younger sister in danger.
"Hey Haley?" Jake asked.
"What is it, Jake?" Haley inquired.
"I truly hope you never have to know the awful feeling of a cavity," Jake said, his voice softening. "It's more than just irritating; cavities are a deep, nagging ache that makes even the simplest things, such as a warm cup of tea, a scoop of ice cream, or anything sweet a source of pain. The discomfort is heartbreaking, and I wouldn't wish that kind of suffering on anyone. It's made me realize how precious good oral health is. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you a lifetime of healthy smiles. This experience has made me rethink my own habits. I'm committing to being much more diligent with my brushing and flossing."
"Thankfully I have never had one!" Haley exclaimed.
"As long as you keep brushing and flossing your teeth regularly, I don't think you will have to worry about them," Jake replied.
"Right you are, Jake," Haley responded with a wink, which made Jake chuckle.
OoOoOoOoOoO
Meanwhile, within a mouth-shaped lair with red velvet walls and giant teeth chandeliers, a magical NORAD screen featuring a map of the United States showed a blinker. It was an alert signal, indicating that someone had lost a tooth. Along with the screen, there were multiple rows of monitors showing various lighted maps. On a lighted wall, there were X-ray slides of kids' teeth.
In a command center area, the Tooth Fairy smiled.
"Ooooh! A dragon tooth! How dela la-la-lalightful!" The Tooth Fairy sang, flying in the air with her wand. "Occasions such as this make me glad I'm the Tooth Fairy! Tra la la!"
The Tooth Fairy leaned towards her control panel, pushing a button to speak into a small screen. "Dr. Diente? Could you pretty please bring me a cup of dandelion tea? I feel like celebrating!" She did not get a response. "Dr. Diente?"
Suddenly, a surgical-gloved hand slapped over her mouth, making her eyes widen fearfully. A slick, sinister man in a dentist's uniform stood behind her, taking her wand away.
He chuckled evilly. "Sorry, boss. It's my turn to celebrate now."
Dr. Diente then turned to a shadowy corner of the lair, waving the tooth fairy's wand toward it.
"What was your stupid command for this thing? Well then, abracadental!" Dr. Diente snickered as he fired magic from the wand. Thousands of teeth began to pour out of bins, turning into huge, fearsome tooth monsters.
As the tooth monsters advanced towards Dr. Diente and the Tooth Fairy, the evil dentist ordered, "Tooth Minions! Take her!" He then threw the Tooth Fairy at the minions as one grabbed her and threw her over their shoulder.
"Take me where? Unhand me this minute! Help!" she screamed as the monsters took her away.
Dr. Diente sat down in the Tooth Fairy's chair, grinning evilly at the blinking light in New York City on the screen.
"Hello, my little dragon fang friend. I've been waiting for you," he sneered, ready to come up with an evil plan.
OoOoOoOoOoO
The next morning at the Long's household, the Longs were having breakfast. Haley became frustrated as she continued to wiggle at her loose tooth.
"My tooth keeps bugging me! It's so annoying!" Haley complained, holding onto her tooth.
"Now Haley, the tooth will fall out when the time comes," Jonathan said sympathetically as he read his newspaper. Susan entered the kitchen.
"Trust me, Haley. You won't get that tooth out any faster by pulling it," Susan stated before making her way to the counter to prepare more breakfast.
Haley nodded knowingly. "I know, because this is no regular tooth, it's a drag-" Haley started before her mother quickly covered her mouth with a nervous smile.
"Er- Yes, Haley. It is a drag to have such a stubborn tooth. It will just have to fall out on its own," Susan finished, hoping her daughter did not reveal too much.
Thankfully, Jonathan merely stood up, patting Haley on the head. "Well, you can just let me know when it does, so I can put in a call to the Tooth Fairy." He winked at Susan before leaving the kitchen to head to work.
Jake investigated the kitchen with his backpack on. Haley accidentally breathed fire across the kitchen. Thankfully, there was nothing within the fire's range that went aflame.
"Whoa! Is everything going alright in here?" Jake asked with a look of worry on his face.
"Yes, everything is alright, Jake," Haley said, trying to reassure her older brother before she suddenly burped and breathed out fire once again.
After the fire had disappeared, Jake walked over to Haley and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Haley, I understand that you are still learning how to utilize your dragon abilities. Heck, I am trying to master my abilities as well. I still have a very long ways to go before I have my powers mastered."
"Thanks, Jake! I'm sure I can master my abilities in no time!" Haley exclaimed confidently.
"No problem, Haley. With time and consistency, I have no doubt you will master your abilities quickly. Who knows where you could be by the time you reach my age," Jake said before he walked over to retrieve a bagel and cream cheese.
After eating his bagel, Jake prepared to go to school.
"I will see you after school, Mom. Love you," Jake said before hugging his mother.
Susan smiled and hugged her son back. "Love you too, Jake. Have fun at school today."
Jake smiled before he patted Haley on the head. "See you after I get back from school, Haley."
"See you later, Jake! Don't cause any trouble!" Haley exclaimed with a look of mock anger on her face before she smiled and giggled.
"Don't worry. I won't," Jake replied with a chuckle before he winked and made his way out the door.
OoOoOoOoOoO
Jake was walking down the hallway in school with Trixie and Spud, as well as Rose, Allison, and Codie. Upon meeting up that morning, Codie made sure to introduce Allison to everyone.
Jake thought that Allison was the perfect girl for Codie. She was a girl with ginger hair and green eyes. Not only did she have a similar figure to Rose, but she was also like Rose in terms of personality; sweet, modest, and intelligent.
"You guys have been playing soccer for basically the same amount of time?" Jake asked curiously.
"More or less. I have been playing soccer ever since I could walk, which was when I was nine months old. After that, I really didn't have any interest in any other sport," Codie explained.
"I agree with Codie. Soccer is the only sport I follow and play. While we have a lot in common, soccer is our biggest passion," Allison added, wrapping an affectionate arm around Codie's shoulders with a smile. Codie smiled down at her as she continued, "I couldn't be luckier to have Codie in my life."
"I could say the same thing about Rose," Jake replied with a smile as he and Rose wrapped each other's arms around their shoulders, grinning at each other.
"Jake is the perfect guy for me. I wouldn't have it any other way," Rose stated.
Trixie and Spud smiled. They were happy that Jake had Rose, and that Codie had Allison.
"Yo, Jake! I wanna show you something," Trixie said.
"Sure thing, Trixie. What is it?" Jake asked, wondering what Trixie had in mind.
"Check this out, dude," Spud said before holding up four tickets. "Trixie was able to hook us up with tickets to the Hip Hop Video Awards! The grand finale is Shaniqua Chulavista singing her new hit single: Baby, don't be frontin'!" When he realized that there were not enough tickets for everyone, a look of remorse appeared on his face. "It looks like we don't have enough tickets for everyone. Sorry about that, guys."
Rose gave Spud a reassuring smile. "It's okay, Spud. I have to do something with my uncle tonight anyway."
Jake was tempted to join Trixie and Spud to see his favorite singer but realizing that protecting his sister was far more important, he said, "I have to babysit my sister tonight, so I won't be able to attend either."
Trixie and Spud's eyes widened.
"Why do you have to babysit your sister tonight, Jake? If you don't mind me asking?" Trixie inquired.
"Haley needs someone to look after her while my parents attend Catskills on Ice. It wouldn't be a good idea for me to leave her home alone. I hope you guys understand," Jake elaborated.
Trixie and Spud nodded in understanding.
"Well, in that case, it looks like we'll have enough tickets after all. That is if Allison and Codie are willing to join us," Spud stated before he turned his attention to Allison and Codie, "Would you guys be interested in joining Trixie and I for the Hip Hop Video Awards?"
Allison and Codie nodded with smiles on their faces. "We would love to join you guys. It sounds like a fun time," Codie stated before he turned to Allison, "Are you okay with that, Allison?"
Allison smiled. "Absolutely. Maybe there is a chance we will get to meet Shaniqua Chulavista herself. I know it's not likely to happen but never say never."
"Heck yeah, baby!" Trixie exclaimed as everyone high-fived each other.
OoOoOoOoOoO
Jake was walking home from school. He remembered when his grandfather and Fu Dog put up the magical wind chime in front of his house to keep out any unwanted magical visitors. It would prove useful, as Jake had to prepare himself to face Dr. Diente and his tooth monsters whenever they decided to try to kidnap Haley. While the tooth monsters would not be able to enter the house due to the magical shield, Jake knew that Dr. Diente himself would likely be able to bypass the barrier. He was not going to let the evil dentist go anywhere near his sister this time.
If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
Sure enough, as Jake approached his home with his schoolbooks, he saw his grandfather and Fu Dog hanging up the wind chime in front of it, sprinkling it with red powder. That caused it to spark and smoke.
"Hey Grandpa! How's it going?" Jake greeted.
"I am just doing some spiritual house maintenance. We're enacting an ancient spell to protect the house from unwanted magical visitors," Lao Shi responded.
"Thank you, Grandpa," Jake stated gratefully. A thought came to his mind. "Are we going to be doing any dragon training after this?"
Lao Shi thought about it for a moment before shaking his head. "While a dragon must keep his skills sharp, I would prefer that you are able to live your life as well, young dragon. You only have one life, after all. I would not want to take it away from you."
"He's right kid. You deserve a day off. While he is correct that you need to take your training seriously, there is a lot more to life than just working hard. You need to have some fun as well," Fu Dog added.
"Okay, if you guys insist. I'll make sure to look after Haley tonight. Mom and Dad are going to Catskills on Ice," Jake said.
"Which further justifies taking today off," Lao Shi replied. "I hope you and your sister have fun tonight."
Jake nodded in understanding. "Thank you, Grandpa. If anything happens, I will let you know."
"Don't you worry, kid. If anything does happen, we will know about it immediately," Fu Dog added reassuringly.
Lao Shi and Fu Dog were about to leave until Jake realized something. "Hey guys? Before you leave, there's something I must tell you."
"Of course. What is it, young dragon?" Lao Shi wondered.
"An evil dentist by the name of Dr. Diente will show up tonight to get Haley. I will need your help to defeat him and protect Haley," Jake explained with concern.
"When will we need to be over to help you, young dragon?" Lao Shi asked anxiously.
"The Tooth Fairy will arrive at your doorstep tonight. Once she does, could you please get here as soon as possible?" Jake asked urgently.
"Absolutely, kid. We'll make sure to keep an eye out when she arrives at our home. Upon her arrival, we will head over here immediately," Fu Dog said.
"Thanks, guys. I just don't want anything to happen to Haley," Jake answered.
"We will ensure that Dr. Diente cannot do anything to Haley, young dragon," Lao Shi responded determinedly.
OoOoOoOoOoO
Back at the Tooth Fairy's lair, the frightened Tooth Fairy was tied to a dentist's chair with dental floss, being guarded by the tooth minions. Dr. Diente sat across from her in a fancy, tooth-shaped throne, with a disgusted look on his face.
"Day after day, I've had to sit by and watch you misuse your power," Dr. Diente began furiously. "You have unlimited access to every house in the world, and you break in and leave money? Not a very good business model, is it?!"
The Tooth Fairy frowned at her former assistant. "Shamey shame shame on you, Dr. Diente! Whatever you're up to, no good can come of it."
Dr. Diente laughed evilly like it was a joke. "Good?! Who said anything about good? Do you know how long I've been biding my time sneaking teeth from your stash to build my army of Tooth Minions?"
He stood up from his seat and began to pour soil into a flowerpot on the table next to him. "Watching you give away millions in dimes, quarters, dollars to ungrateful, grimy little brats! Night after night!"
Dr. Diente patted down the soil, satisfied with his work.
The horrified Tooth Fairy struggled to break free. "You'll never get away with this!"
Dr. Diente merely sneered. "Just watch me. All I need is one dragon tooth." He leaned into the control panel, causing the computerized digital satellite read out to zoom in on New York, and finally to a specific block.
"Let's see…" He pushed a few more buttons before a picture of Haley Long appeared on the screen.
"Ah, yes," he said with an evil chuckle. "Haley Long."
"No! You leave her alone! That little girl's as precious as a butterfly perched on a freshly bloomed-" the Tooth Fairy rambled before Dr. Diente, having had enough of her ramblings, waved the Tooth Fairy's wand, causing the tooth minions to stand at attention.
"Dump her in Jersey!" he ordered before a tooth minion tore the chair the Tooth Fairy was tied to off its hinges. The Tooth Fairy screamed at the top of her lungs as the tooth monster took her away again.
OoOoOoOoOoO
After Susan and Jonathan left for their show, Jake ordered Haley to find a place in the house to hide. While Haley wondered what her older brother was up to, Jake told her to trust him, as he did not want anything to happen to her. Haley did as she was told with a nod, running off into a hidden area within the house.
Jake was watching the area outside his house from a window, making sure to remain hidden so Dr. Diente and his tooth minions would not see him. He felt his muscles tense up, his heart beating loud enough for him to hear it. Jake thought he heard Haley say something, but realized he was just hearing things.
Sure enough, Jake saw Dr. Diente and his tooth minions make their move.
When the tooth minions ran towards the house, the wind chimes activated themselves, forming a pink shield around the house. The tooth minions subsequently turned into piles of teeth on impact after being zapped by the shield.
Upon seeing the tooth minions retreat into the shadows, Jake exclaimed, "Dragon up!"
He transformed into his dragon form and flew after the tooth monsters. Once he saw where Dr. Diente and his tooth minions were hiding, he landed in front of them.
"Dr. Diente!" Jake exclaimed, fury and determination on his features as he faced the evil dentist.
Surprised and mad, Dr. Diente glared at Jake. "How do you know who I am?!" he demanded.
"Who cares about how I know who you are? What I care about is not letting you lay a finger on my sister!" Jake responded, entering a fighting stance.
Dr. Diente snickered. "Just you wait, dragon. Once I get my hands on that precious dragon tooth, I'll be unstoppable!"
"Not if I have anything to say about it!" Jake retorted.
The evil dentist waved his wand. "Tooth Minions! Attack!"
Jake waited patiently for the Tooth Minions to close in on him. As soon as one of the tooth monsters made a move to attack him, Jake dodged the attack and smacked the tooth monster with his tail. The monster demolished into a pile of teeth, but the monster reformed. He was forced to duck as another tooth monster attempted to punch him from the side.
Taking advantage, Jake threw a punch of his own at the tooth monster, managing to strike it hard enough in the head to destroy it.
Realizing that the tooth monsters were reforming due to the wand Dr. Diente possessed, Jake was going to make sure to make a move to get it after the tooth minions had been defeated.
OoOoOoOoOoO
Inside Lao Shi's shop, Fu Dog and Lao Shi were gathered around a table with a troll, an elf, a pixie and a goblin. They were playing a magical, criss-cross word game with holographic letter blocks.
"Leprechaunistic? That is not a word," Lao Shi said.
"It's in the dictionary," the elf responded.
Fu Dog looked up from the green sparkly dictionary in his paws before adding, "Yep. Right between Leprechaunalicious and Leprechauntastic."
Grandpa, annoyed, rubbed his forehead. "This is the last time I play word-a cross with an Elvish dictionary."
Suddenly, there was a tiny buzzing sound at the door. Fu rolled his eyes before getting up to answer the door. "Yeah, go sell it somewhere else. We're stocked up here."
Fu Dog looked down and gasped in shock at what he saw. He was gazing upon the tooth fairy lying on the doorstep, looking much, much worse for the wear. Her wings were crumpled, her tiara was around her neck, and her pretty dress was stained with grease.
"Tooth Fairy? T.F.? Is that you?" Fu said with wide eyes.
"Fu! Sweet stars in heaven! Things have gone to H - E - double hockey sticks in a handbasket!" she exclaimed urgently, her hands on her head.
Grandpa stepped up to the door. He had a sad look on his face when he saw the tooth fairy. "You don't look so good. Let me help you up." Lao Shi then assisted with getting the tooth fairy up to her feet.
"Fu Dog, I did not realize you knew the Tooth Fairy," Lao Shi stated.
"Oh, we go way back. I had to sell her my left molar when I lost a-never mind," Fu Dog started before looking the tooth fairy up and down at her beaten appearance. "Gee, T.F. - you look like-"
"Like I dragged my mangled body all the way from Jersey after almost being crushed to death in a junkyard?!" she yelled with wide eyes, still shaken at her near-death experience.
"Sure, let's go with that," Fu Dog responded.
"Listen to me. My assistant betrayed me! He stole my wand! He's after a little girl's dragon tooth!" the Tooth Fairy urgently explained.
Grandpa and Fu Dog exchanged worried looks. "Haley!" they exclaimed in unison.
"Jake must be fighting Dr. Diente and his tooth minions as we speak. We need to get over there now!" Fu Dog exclaimed worriedly.
"Yes. Before anything happens to him or Haley," Lao Shi responded anxiously before he, Fu Dog, and the Tooth Fairy raced to the Long's house as quickly as they could.
OoOoOoOoOoO
Jake continued to fight off the tooth minions. He remembered that his grandfather, Fu Dog, and the Tooth Fairy would soon show up to help him stop Dr. Diente and the tooth monsters. Therefore, he was determined to continue fighting long enough for them to arrive.
"Is that all you got?" Jake taunted as he easily defeated another tooth monster.
Dr. Diente, realizing that his plan was not working, decided to take a different approach. He let out an evil chuckle.
"That is far from all I have," Dr. Diente sneered before he waved his wand. "Let's see how you can handle this."
The evil dentist had all the tooth minions combine with each other, forming one single enormous tooth monster that was several dozen feet tall.
Jake could only gaze at the huge tooth monster with wide eyes. "Yikes!" he muttered.
The tooth monster attacked Jake, throwing its fists at him. Jake dodged them before he flew towards the monster. He made a move to attack the monster, but when he struck it, the monster did not collapse like all the smaller ones did.
Before Jake could get out of the way, the tooth monster smacked Jake into the ground.
Weakened from the blow, Jake looked up to see an evil smile on Dr. Diente's face. The evil dentist waved his wand at the tooth monster. "Keep him busy," the evil dentist ordered before he made his way towards the Long's house.
"No!" Jake exclaimed before he attempted to go after Dr. Diente. Before he could reach him, the tooth monster grabbed him and threw him to the ground once again.
The second blow weakened him further. He vainly moved towards his house as he saw the evil dentist enter his house. Jake was hoping that Haley had found a good enough place to hide.
OoOoOoOoOoO
Upon entering the house, Dr. Diente called out, "Where are you Haley Long? Come out at once and give me your dragon tooth!"
Haley, hearing the evil dentist's voice, only moved deeper into her hiding place.
As she hid, Haley attempted to keep herself calm and not hit anything that could potentially make noise. She took a quiet, deep breath.
Dr. Diente realized that the wand would be useless inside the house. While he was able to enter due to being only a human, he knew that nothing magical would get past the barrier.
"Come out, come out, wherever you are little girl," the evil dentist called out tauntingly.
Haley simply held still where she was, unwilling to let the evil man have her tooth. She had a feeling that he would use her tooth for an egregious purpose.
OoOoOoOoOoO
Lao Shi, Fu Dog, and the Tooth Fairy arrived to see Jake fighting the enormous tooth monster. After seeing Jake take a huge hit, Lao Shi switched into his dragon form to aid his grandson. He swiftly grabbed Jake, managing to get him out of the way of the tooth monster's enormous fist.
They managed to hide behind a building as the tooth minion then looked around, searching for Jake.
"Where's Haley, kid?" Fu asked frantically.
"She is hiding in the house, and Dr. Diente is in there looking for her! He wants her dragon tooth! What are we going to do?" Jake stated worriedly.
Lao Shi quickly came up with a plan. "We will distract the tooth monster while you go inside to stop Dr. Diente. You must stop him before he can get a hold of Haley's dragon tooth."
Having managed to recover his strength, Jake nodded. "Right away, Grandpa."
Lao Shi nodded in return before he turned to the Tooth Fairy and Fu Dog. "We will work together to keep the monster diverted while Jake goes after Dr. Diente."
"Yes sir, Lao Shi!" the Tooth Fairy exclaimed determinedly.
"We got this. Let's kick some behind!" Fu Dog exclaimed before Lao Shi went on with explaining his plan to them.
OoOoOoOoOoO
Jake returned to his human form and entered his house stealthily, making sure to be as quiet as possible. He heard footsteps upon entering the kitchen, forcing him to hide behind a wall just outside of the kitchen.
Jake peered from the wall and saw Dr. Diente looking around in the kitchen. "Where is that brat? I have looked in just about every place I could think of!" he exclaimed in frustration.
"Haley is not a brat, you evil dirtbag," Jake muttered soft enough so that the evil dentist could not hear him.
Jake waited patiently for the evil dentist to walk towards where he was situated. Once he felt his footsteps were close enough, Jake made his move. He stuck his right foot out, managing to not only trip Dr. Diente, but cause him to drop the Tooth Fairy's wand.
"Insolent brat!" Dr. Diente said as he attempted to retrieve the wand, but Jake was faster.
As soon as he had the wand in his possession, Jake made a run for the front door. However, Dr. Diente managed to grab his foot, sending Jake to the floor.
"Oh no, you don't!" Dr. Diente stated threateningly as he managed to pin Jake to the floor.
"Where is your sister, boy?" the evil dentist demanded after snatching the wand from Jake.
"I'm not telling you anything!" Jake retorted before he said, "Dragon up!"
Jake transformed back into his dragon form, forcing the evil dentist to release him. Taking advantage of Dr. Diente being distracted, Jake whipped his hand with his tail, making him cry out in pain and causing him to drop the wand.
Jake swiftly grabbed the wand before he delivered a powerful punch to Dr. Diente's face, knocking him out cold.
"This will be the first and last time you ever enter my house!" Jake declared before he made his way out of the house with the wand and the unconscious evil dentist.
OoOoOoOoOoO
Lao Shi, Fu Dog, and the Tooth Fairy were able to hold off the giant tooth monster for a while. After some time, however, the tooth minion was able to land painful blows to both Lao Shi and Fu Dog, eventually putting them out of the fight.
Without her wand, the Tooth Fairy was unable to do anything but fly around frantically, avoiding the giant hands of the tooth monster.
"I could really use my wand right about now!" she exclaimed frantically, dodging another attack from the monster.
Right on cue, Jake came to the Tooth Fairy's aid, holding her wand in his right hand while he had hold of Dr. Diente in his left hand.
"Hey Tooth Fairy! Your wand!" Jake called out as he threw the wand in the Tooth Fairy's direction. It was a perfect throw, as the wand landed in the Tooth Fairy's hand.
"Thank you!" the Tooth Fairy exclaimed with a smile before it was replaced with a determined smirk. She used her wand to dissolve the tooth minion into a giant pile of teeth.
"Looks like the jig is up for you, Dr. Diente," the Tooth Fairy said to the defeated monster before she turned to Jake. "Thank you for giving my wand back, Jake! I can't even think about what would happen had Dr. Diente gotten a hold of your sister's dragon tooth."
"No problem, Tooth Fairy. I feel like something terrible would've happened had Dr. Diente succeeded with his plans," Jake replied, remembering how Dr. Diente succeeded last time and managed to turn himself into a large, white tooth monster. The evil dentist ended up being roughly the same size as all the tooth minions combined. After that, Jake recalled how Dr. Diente took Haley hostage before he went around stealing all the money the children left for the Tooth Fairy after they lost teeth.
Jake grew concerned however, when he noticed that Lao Shi and Fu Dog were not with the Tooth Fairy. "Hey Tooth Fairy? Where are my grandfather and Fu Dog?"
The Tooth Fairy looked concerned before she frantically looked around for them, eventually finding them walking along the street slowly. "There they are!"
Jake and the Tooth Fairy rushed towards them.
"Grandpa! Fu Dog! Are you guys alright?" Jake asked worriedly once he was by their side.
"We are alright, young dragon. I see that you and the Tooth Fairy managed to defeat Dr. Diente and his tooth minions," Lao Shi stated with a proud look on his face.
Jake nodded. "Yes, we did." He then looked at the unconscious man he was holding. "What should we do with Dr. Diente?"
"I say we send him to prison for the rest of his life!" the Tooth Fairy fumed.
"I agree with the Tooth Fairy. What he did was nefarious and unforgivable. We will ensure that he does not cause any more trouble ever again," Lao Shi said.
The Tooth Fairy waved her wand, summoning a huge metal cage around Dr. Diente to prevent him from escaping. "That should do it!"
Jake smiled. He recalled how the last time that Dr. Diente was killed after they battled him. Jake didn't like the idea of killing any of his enemies unless he really had no choice. The only time he ever remembered doing so was when he wished Rose was never taken by the Huntsclan.
He was snapped from his thoughts when he heard Fu Dog clear his throat. "Kid, where's Haley? I noticed that she is nowhere in sight. Is she still hiding inside your house?"
"Oh, right," Jake replied sheepishly. He immediately ran towards the house.
Upon entering, he returned to his human form and called out, "Haley? It's me, Jake! You can come out now!" He then walked into the kitchen.
After a few moments, Haley met Jake in the kitchen. He noticed that one of her hands was closed.
"Did you lose your dragon tooth, Haley?" Jake inquired.
"I did!" Haley exclaimed as she opened her hand to reveal her lost tooth.
"I guess we had better get this under your pillow before the tooth fairy comes, huh?" Jake said.
Haley nodded before a curious look appeared on her face
"I was hiding for a while. Is everything okay, Jake?" Haley wondered. "How did you know to tell me to hide?"
Jake explained how Dr. Diente was after her for her dragon tooth after he betrayed the Tooth Fairy. When Haley asked about why the evil dentist wanted her tooth, Jake said that he wanted to use it for planting in soil for evil purposes.
Jake then decided to tell her about how he was sent back in time to prevent a potentially apocalyptic future from occurring. Haley was skeptical at first, but after Jake finished his story, she realized that her older brother was serious.
"At least I am safe from Dr. Diente, right?" Haley asked, unable to keep silent any longer.
Jake nodded. "Yes. He will be going to prison. That evil man will not be able to threaten you or anyone else anymore."
"Good to know," Haley replied, relieved.
A thought came to Jake's mind. He realized that unlike last time, the living room was not trashed. Therefore, Haley did not have to take the blame for anything. "I'm glad that you and I got out of the whole situation in one piece. It could've been much worse."
"That is true," Haley stated. "Anyway, would you like to watch some television while we wait for Mom and Dad to get home? You can choose what we watch."
"Sure thing, Haley," Jake replied in agreement as he turned on the TV and kicked back, Haley sitting next to him.
After watching TV for a little bit, Susan and Jonathan arrived home.
"That was a fun time, but it feels good to be home," Jonathan said.
"Yes. Anytime with you is a good time, honey," Susan added before she and her husband walked in to see Haley and Jake watching TV.
"Hey there, Haley. Jake. How'd it go?" Susan asked.
"We had a great time together. Haley lost her first tooth," Jake replied before smiling encouragingly at his sister. "Why don't you show them, Haley?"
Haley obliged, smiling a big, sweet toothless smile at her parents.
Susan and Jonathan gasped happily.
"You lost your first tooth, Haley!" Jonathan exclaimed.
"Camera! Get the camera right now!" Susan urged before she and Jonathan rushed out of the room.
Haley and Jake smiled at each other.

Dressed in her pajamas, Haley hopped into her bed. Jake placed her dragon tooth under her pillow.
"Here you go. You should wake up with a twenty-dollar bill under your pillow after everything you've been through today," Jake stated.
"It was all worth it to be protected by the American Dragon," Haley replied with a toothless smile. "I just wanted to thank you for missing Shaniqua to keep me safe."
"You're welcome, Haley. No concert is worth compromising your safety. Whether I missed much or not, so be it. I'm sure I'll get another chance in the future," Jake said.
"I really hope you do get your chance, Jake," Haley stated.
"I hope so too, Haley. We will see," Jake responded as he left the room to allow his younger sister some rest.

Trixie, Spud, Allison, and Codie were in a limo with Shaniqua in person as they cheered for her, very pleased at their luck to be sharing a ride with their favorite artist.
"You rock, Shaniqua!" Trixie exclaimed excitedly.
"Yeah! This is awesome!" Spud added, grinning.
"This is an amazing experience, Shaniqua. I would like to thank you very much for making this all possible for us," Allison said gratefully, in awe that she had gotten to meet Shaniqua physically.
"I wish Rose and Jake could've been here with us. They would've had a wonderful time," Codie said.
Shaniqua nodded in understanding. "This will not be my last concert. There are still many more concerts to come. Should Rose and Jake decide to attend one of my future concerts, I will make sure to get the chance to meet them and ensure they have the time of their lives."
"That is very nice of you, Shaniqua. Thank you," Codie stated gratefully before asking, "Could you please pass the sparkling cider?"
Shaquina popped open a bottle of sparkling cider before passing it along to everyone. They poured cider into their glasses before clinking and celebrating the night away.
