I'm dropping this story.

opinion, everyone is entitled to do it, but in the same way the readers have the freedom to express their dissatisfaction with a story, writers also have the freedom to simply ignore it.
Actual feedback is... not easy to brush off.
For this story, I received a lot of criticism. I found myself agreeing with a lot of what people were saying. The main problem that really stuck with me is that the morality system limits the main character too much.
When I first came up with the idea of this story, I thought the idea of a character that can't sin was cool. Little did I FUCKING KNOW, I JUST GAVE MYSELF THE BIGGEST GODDAMN HEADACHE OF MY ENTIRE LIFE! Needless to say, fleshing out a system like this is difficult. If it was just that, I'd say fuck it and eat the shitpie I've served myself.
You see, with things like this, usually what I'd do is just try and fix the issue. But the issue is the literal premise of the story.
I really am sorry for doing this, but I've... I've had a lot of issues in my life over the last half a year. I can feel within myself that this story is going to hurt me if I keep trying to push it. Not that this doesn't hurt a lot. I started this story as a sort of return to form, where I picked a fun premise I wanted to play around with and took things from there. Now I see that's not how things work for me anymore. They'll never work like that again. As such, before I release anything else, I'm going to take a long while to prepare a backlog of chapters and to write quite a bit ahead. I want to see the story working with my own eyes. I want to see the premise hold under the weight before I throw it out into the world.
It's hardly a consolation prize, but I do write other things, and maybe some of you would like them.
Cheers, folks. It was a fun ride while it lasted.
I am very, very sorry.
Have a good day.
