  Article 13: Principle

In a holy light, the majestic and solemn temple gradually approached the crowd until it reached the front of the 'milk' white 'gate' of the temple. At that time, the holy light was dazzling to the point where people could hardly open their eyes.

Nicholas muttered a few words in an unknown language, and in an instant, the holy light dimmed slightly.

The white giant door slowly opened a gap, the size of which was just enough for several people to pass through.

After seeing this seam, Nicholas's face visibly relaxed a bit, he slowly let out a breath and muttered: "Fortunately, it's useful, otherwise I really wouldn't have been able to open the door of this divine palace."

As he spoke, his face changed color and he slowly walked towards the gap. A moment later, he merged into the entire "door".

This scene is something that the people behind can't understand, but as soon as they see Saint Nicholas walk in without hesitation, everyone knows that this path should be safe.

Du Fan saw the hesitant look of several people, although he also had some doubts in his heart, but he knew that opportunities were rare, and if he didn't follow up at this moment, it wouldn't be easy to take advantage of the situation, and even leaving this space safely would be a problem.

At this moment, he suddenly became a little spiritual, and the light of his whole body flowed into a protective screen of aura, and then he slowly walked into that "gate".

During the movement, Du Fan seemed to feel that something was tearing his body apart, but this tearing feeling was extremely weak, and he had a Dou Qi shield protecting himself, so there wasn't much of a problem.

After passing through that "gate", the space in front of him suddenly darkened, and the strong contrast between brightness and darkness made Du Fan's eyes unable to see anything for a moment. Fortunately, after a short while, his vision slowly recovered.

Du Fan glanced out and saw an extremely ancient mountain cave in front of him, with a straight tunnel leading to it. The inside of the tunnel was pitch black, as if nothing could be seen clearly. Meanwhile, Nicholas stood beside him, his face solemn.

A strange smell, a mixture of dampness, rot and blood, wafted through the air, making one feel nauseous. The dark scene before them was in stark contrast to the sacred exterior of the temple.

Du Fan was stunned for a moment before saying in a low voice: "Nicholas-sama, is this really the so-called Divine Palace?"

"'It should be fine,'" Nicholas's voice was laced with a hint of hesitation, "'but I don't feel even the slightest bit of holiness here.'"

Nicholas couldn't continue, he walked to one side of the cave and gently stroked the wall with his hand. As he did so, a faint white glow rippled across the wall, only to fade away again after a moment.

After all this, Nicholas shook his head in doubt and said: "The walls of the cave indeed have holy light attached to them, but why is it so dark here? Compared to the Temple of God, we feel like this place is more like a den of undead creatures."

After saying this, a bitter smile also 'surfaced' on the face of this magician who was known as a saint.

Du Fan looked at his expression, how could he not understand what he was thinking? It's obvious that this Nicholas saint had already had a preliminary understanding of the unknown dangers in the Temple of God, but he estimated that he absolutely did not expect that after passing through that unspeakable holiness, he would finally reach such a place full of dead air.

Can you really convince yourself that this is the legendary most sacred temple? I'm afraid even if you have a big nerve, you can't do it.

As they spoke, the few people following behind slowly "surfaced" from the air. Although Du Fan knew he had probably appeared in a similar way earlier, seeing this scene still made his scalp tingle - if this kind of "transportation" were to suddenly malfunction, then half of his body would be left in that place filled with holy light, and the other half would appear in this 'dark', 'damp' mountain 'cave'. He didn't know whether he would be considered dead or alive at that time.

After a while, it was estimated that other people's vision had also returned to normal. Du Fan heard the sound of gasps coming over.

"Good heavens! What kind of place is this? Is this really the so-called Divine Palace?"

Looking at Alfred's expression, Dufan and Nicholas didn't know how to answer for a moment, they could only exchange a glance with each other, and a few bitter smiles appeared on their faces.

Nicholas coughed slightly and was about to explain something when a cry of surprise came from behind Dufan and the others.

After entering this place, Du Fan was already stunned by the scene in front of him, and he didn't even think about going to see what was behind him. However, when he heard this exclamation, Du Fan's instincts made his heart skip a beat.

He couldn't help but turn around and take a look, but as soon as he did, he was stunned into a daze.

If it were said that what appeared behind Du Fan was a deep and solemn temple, or even the palace of the great emperor himself, Du Fan would not have been too surprised. However, what actually appeared behind him was just a short flight of stairs.

Du Fan's eyesight was astonishing, and with one glance, he saw that this staircase was the same one he had walked up earlier. It wasn't even a few minutes ago that he had walked from there into a holy place, and then arrived here. But unexpectedly, after passing through that place, he ended up back at his original starting point.

Moreover, at this moment, on that staircase, dozens of corpses were lying on the ground. Although their expressions were still extremely calm, fresh blood was flowing out from their seven orifices. Those Temple Knights who couldn't withstand the pressure had all died cleanly?

In an instant, Du Fan only felt a wave of coldness all over his body, and a deep sense of fear surged up in his heart. Although he had already understood the danger of the Temple of God, who would have thought that just this once, so many people would die?

So what exactly was that passage filled with holy light that I just went through? Was it just my own illusion? Or is that the essence of God's glory?

For a moment, Du Fan's mind was filled with all sorts of thoughts, as if he had grasped something but couldn't quite catch it. The feeling was like seeing flowers in a dream, making his head dizzy in waves. It wasn't until after a while that he suddenly woke up with a start.

At this moment, a Templar knight who had barely followed the cave saw the scene outside and was not stunned. He estimated that he had an extremely good relationship with several Templar knights, couldn't help but shout out a few names, and rushed over in an instant.

Du Fan felt that something was off in his heart, but after all, he didn't have much understanding of this mysterious thing, and he just subconsciously gave way to one side.

But Nicholas's face changed color and he said: "No"

He had hardly spoken when his voice suddenly stopped.

All that could be seen was that the Temple Knight who had rushed out, his body froze as soon as he stepped onto the stairs outside of the cave, as if time had stopped for him countless times. His running posture solidified in mid-air, and after a moment, fine lines of blood appeared on the surface of his body, followed by threads of blood slowly splashing out, and then pieces of crimson flesh scattered everywhere.

In a slow process, his body was suddenly torn into countless pieces, and in the end, it fell on the corpses all over the ground, unable to tell whether it was beautiful or sad.

The remaining four Templars' eyes all turned red, Du Fan twisted his head, and Tasia covered her mouth.

Only Nicholas and Alfred were still staring blankly at the scene, after a moment, Nicholas let out a long sigh and said: "Spatial law, it's actually spatial law? So this place was laid down with a spatial magic spell, no wonder, no wonder"

Although Du Fan had not been in contact with magic for a long time, he knew that space magic was absolutely not a magic that ordinary magicians could master. The kind of magic that could control time and space had already exceeded the limits of human power, even if it was a strong saint, they could only barely touch that realm, as to whether they could set foot in that realm, it was not something Du Fan could understand.

"After a long silence, Du Fan said: 'Lord Nicholas, what should we do next?'"

Nicholas smiled wryly and pointed behind him, saying: "This place, with our strength, is impossible to leave safely no matter what, so we can only venture into this mountain 'cave' and hope that this place is truly the so-called Divine Palace. If not, then we'll just have to wait for death here."

Du Fan nodded and didn't say anything more.

At present, two of the four surviving Templars walked to the front of the team on their own initiative, while the other two were left behind.

Du Fan noticed, not knowing whether it was intentional or unintentional, that Ferre had actually stood behind him. At this moment, the remaining four Temple Knights, except for Ferre, were not very familiar to Du Fan, so he didn't say much. He also knew at this moment that although he wanted to take advantage of entering the temple, in reality, he had thought it was too simple, and perhaps this time, he would really lose his life here!
