This was quite a fun little experiment. I wrote L’auteur with every intention of moving off Royal Road someday. I just wanted to experiment with short stories, and the magazine contest was the perfect time to try it out.

  Of course, had I won, I would have been more than happy to keep it here ;)

  Well, that time has come and by tomorrow, L’auteur will be my first foray into KDP and Amazon self publishing. As I opted to make the story available to Kindle Unlimited, I will need to remove it from this platform.

  I’ll keep this here as a stub, and as a bonus, I’ll include with this final note the image art that I made while writing this story. Both the cover and the image art use AI graphics, and I’ve replaced the cover on the Kindle version with one free of AI influence. I can at least keep this much here as a place marker and for any Kindle readers who happen by.
