Chapter 57. Divinity.

“Everybody, you’ll practice carrying an injured person as you try to run and dodge, Xania said, teleporting beside Anise as she tried to fix her hair and used wind magic to blow some of the dirt off herself.

“What injured person?” Anise asked, finding joy in seeing Xania’s appearance still messed u.

“You,” Xania said, materializing a thin sheet of mana-proof material and teleporting Anise onto it before holding her down with mana-proof materials.

“Hey! Let me go!” Anise shouted, trying to struggle out.

“Everybody, come lift this up as we start the test, you can use her as a meat shield if you want, she won’t die,” Xania said, Anise still in the background protesting as the soldiers picked her up, preferring to listen to Xania than Anise.

“Everybody, let’s go!” Xania shouted as they started running in one big group, even the ones not carrying Anise whose protests were now muffled by a mask materialized by Xania.

The soldiers started running as Xania threw the bombs, trying to aim for Anise she missed each one barely with the ones getting too close being hit away by Anise’s tail.

“Mmph! Mmph!!!” Anise struggles against the mask as it finally comes off, “Puah!”

“That stupid mask is finally off! Get me off of this thing!” Anise started struggling against the mana-proof material, causing the soldier’s job to be harder.

“Miss Anise, please stop,” One of the soldiers who Anise recognizes as the demon who spoke up before due to her voice said, her voice exhausted from the running.

“Oh, it's you? What’s your name?” Anise asked, making small talk in the middle of the still-going bombing.

“Uh…” The soldier stuttered, not knowing how to react with Anise making small talk while at the risk of being bombed, “Felia,” She answered, not knowing what other options she had in her situation.

“Alright, Felia… Get me off!” Anise shouted, struggling even harder as the material suddenly flipped off, Anise, still stuck on it and still struggling as the material somehow kept flipping, slowly escaping as over a dozen bombs hit her suddenly, her clothes mostly okay due to Anise materializing a small shield in the areas without the mana-proof material.

“Okay, everybody passed!” Xania said, teleporting everybody back to their original position, leaving Anise on the ground, still stuck to the metal as she materialized a sheet of material over Anise’s mouth to silence her.

  Stolen novel; please report.

“Finally, some peace,” Xania said, the soldiers all glancing back and forth between Xania and Anise, the sound of a metallic object hitting the ground in the background as Anise kept struggling, causing the material to keep flipping.

“Everybody, listen up. There is a chance that we may soon be attacked by the humans so we have to prepare for anything and everything,” Xania said, thinking about the heroes and the goddess.”

“Pain in the…” Xania thought to herself for a moment before turning her attention back to the soldiers.

“So, we will be practicing even harder since this is the case, are there any protests?” Xania asked, finding a couple of people raising their hands.

“Alright, guess there's none,” Xania said, hearing a couple of annoyed complaints.

For the next few days, Xania and Anise train the soldiers in drills, such as what to do, how to evacuate, and where to prepare to fight. Sparring, physical training, and the bombs.

“Alright everybody, training’s over, let—” Xania said, getting interrupted halfway by a massive boulder that hit her.

“Where the hell did that come from?” Xania said, confused at the appearance of a sudden boulder.

“We’re being attacked,” Anise said, standing beside Xania as she uses detection magic.’

“Which kingdom?” Xania asked, “Kislat,” Anise answered, putting up a shield for the wall as she teleported everybody to the top of the walls, revealing an army consisting of over a hundred heroes and 50,000 soldiers.

“They deserve the name of the military kingdom indeed,” Xania said, teleporting the bombs to the soldiers who were now stationed on the walls.

“Everybody, attack!” Anise commanded as the enemy soldiers started they all threw the bombs at the approaching soldiers.

Xania who was also on the wall with them is sitting on a beach chair with an umbrella, watching the bombing taking place, “Nice.”

“My lord, do you really think the bombs will suffice?” Anise asked, standing beside Xania.

“Yep,” Xania said despite knowing it wouldn’t be.

“It was rhetorical, get off the chair and come help,” Anise said as she kicked the chair, causing it to spoil with Xania still on it, forcing her off.

“Fine…” Xania reluctantly complied, raising her right arm into the air as a small fireball appeared, slowly turning black before growing in size slowly until it reached the size of a small house as Xania sent it down.

“Should suffice for cutting down their numbers,” Xania said, watching as it flew into the center of them before blowing up, creating a massive explosion and a wave of dark mana, causing the area to become poisonous.

“Maybe a bit too much?” Xania said, turning to look at Anise who seemed oddly focused on where it blew up. Xania turned to look at it, finding the enemies all okay, a massive shield covering them all, made not of mana but a familiar energy.

“Divinity?” Xania said, surprised that the humans had enough divinity, let alone knew how to use it to this extent.

“My lord, I really think you should actually take this seriously now, that divinity is clearly much different from yours, it seems to be much closer to holy energy so I wouldn’t be surprised if it could kill you,” Anise said, causing Xania to reluctantly agree.

“It’s probably related to the goddess and the heroes so let’s simply wipe them up, I’ll change the map again if I have to,” Xania said, making Anise think about Xania’s use of the word ‘again.’

“Let’s go,” Anise said, teleporting down with Xania as a couple of attacks imbued with divinity were sent at them, all of which were blocked with ease by Xani and Anise.

“My lord, please keep anybody important alive, we do need information after all,” Anise said, causing Xania to sigh.

“I’ll try my best,” Xania said, searching for anybody of importance.
