They both continued on, hiding their demonic features to the best extent they can using their clothes. Xania explored about, finding the grass to be as soft as how clouds look, schools for dragons having multiple layers of shields to prevent any accidents while practicing magic, each building made massive with spatial magic on the inside with a similar method to Xania's bracelet.
“Hey, let's go there!” Xania pointed towards one of the slightly bigger islands in their current ring of islands with a small market place, some food vendors selling food she had never seen before.
“No.”
Anise crossed her arms, unwilling to let Xania go.
“But why?!”
“You're the demon lord, you are someone of importance… somehow, so you need to act appropriately, we still have another 2 rings to traverse.”
“Yeah but that doesn't matter! Nobody will recognise us!”
“They will, they're not blind.”
“Why do we even have to hide?!”
“Convenience, Dragrove was originally supposed to be the one to bring us here and explaining takes too long. If we just go to the center, Dragrove will be here and the problem will be solved so stop creating problems.”
Xania tried to argue back but couldn't find a reason before angrily flying away to the next ring, Anise following behind.
“My lord, we have a bunch of food back at the castle, you could just go cook those if you're hungry.”
“...”
Xania continued flying, ignoring Anise.
“She's sulking again isn't she?” Anise muttered to herself, flying faster as she touched Xania's shoulder, Xania flying faster as a response.
“Dammit…”
They continued flying in silence, eventually reaching the third ring of islands which was covered in a massive shield entirely, forcing Xania and Anise to go to the entrance.
“My lord?” Anise poked Xania, still getting no response.
“Hello?” Anise kept poking, finally getting a response as Xania used her tail to hit her hand away.
“Well… not need to get violent.”
Anise and Xania walked in as an alarm suddenly sounded out.
“My lord, did you use magic?”
Anise stared at Xania who kept ignoring her.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
“I'll take that as no.”
Anise looked around, finding a small red line behind them with the words ‘intruders are not allowed’ behind it.
“Ah.”
Guards immediately appeared as they took Anise and Xania away, both of them not resisting, Anise because she doesn't want to create more trouble. Xania because she doesn't care.
“Dammit…” Anise muttered as they got thrown into a cell.
Anise glanced at Xania who was still sulking, causing Anise to sigh.
“Fine, keep sulking.”
They both stand on opposite sides of the cell waiting as an old man appeared and glanced from Anise to Xania.
“Ah, you two are the visitors we've been expecting since a couple days ago?”
Anise glanced over at Xania who clearly had no intentions of speaking before speaking up herself.
“Yes, we… didn't see the lines at the red line…”
“Very well, I understand. I am the chief of the dragons,” the old man said calmly.
Anise sighed, thinking they would be released since the misunderstanding was cleared up.
“So you two are the ones who caused my son to turn into a demonic dragon!” The chief shouted angrily, surprising Anise and Xania with his sudden change of attitude.
“You two will remain here until the trial is over.”
The chief teleported away, confusing Anise and Xania.
“Ok… my lord?”
Anise turned to Xania who was still sulking.
“That's it.”
Anise walked up to Xania, grabbing her horns and pulling her to the bars of the cell.
“We're breaking out since they clearly had no intentions to help us, and you're gonna cooperate. If you have any complaints, save it for later!”
Anise released Xania as she reluctantly used magic, breaking out the cell while muttering softly to herself in annoyance.
“Annoying…”
Alarms started to sound out from all around, Anise and Xania both quickly teleported back to the first ring of islands, finding a shield there.
Xania prepared to destroy the shield but her attack was rendered almost completely ineffective, preparing another attack before Anise spoke up, interrupting her.
“Don't, save your mana and divinity incase, if we broke the shield and ran then we'll actually have no way to have a friendly relation with the dragons anymore.”
Xania reluctantly complied, dispersing the attacks she had prepared as the chief appeared once more, this time with some guards.
“How dare you. Guards! Arrest the criminal!”
The guards obeyed the chief's command, flying using magic as they prepared to take down Anise and Xania.
“Wow, so dragons don't keep their wings in their human forms huh?” Anise muttered softly.
Anise and Xania both dodged the guards' attacks with ease, seemingly making a fool out of them as the chief's anger slowly grew.
“Die!” He opened his mouth, sending a massive beam out which Xania blocked with a shield which broke easily, sending her flying towards the barrier.
“...”
“So they don't keep their wings yet still attack from their mouths, wow.”
Anise looked over at Xania who was basically perfectly okay except for her hair and clothes getting slightly messed up before turning back to the chief who had just prepared another attack, sending it at Anise.
“Dammit!” She thought to herself, preparing shields hastily, trying to mitigate the damage which was about to be dealt.
She closed her eyes, preparing to shield herself from the attacks using her arms before opening her eyes slowly after the expected impact didn't arrive, finding another shield In front of her.
She turned around, finding the shield having been made by Xania as she smirked.
“Knew you couldn't ignore me for long.”
Anise gave Xania a thumbs up, further fueling the chief's anger and annoying Xania slightly.
“You dare ignore me?!”
The chief turned back into a dragon, this time sending another attack but at full force, Xania creating layers of shields but each getting shredded like paper.
“Tsk...”
Xania created another shield, pouring in more mana with a bit of divinity as the beam finally halted.
The chief kept the attack up, slowly cracking the shield despite Xania's efforts to maintain it, resorting to creating another few layers of shield, finally blocking the chief's attacks.
“Easy peasy,” Xania muttered to herself.
The chief started preparing another beam, this time at Xania.
“Annoying." Xania muttered, intending to send a beam of pure dark mana to counter.
