Something told me I needed to figure out Kitsune emotions and how their different parts were affected. It wasn’t like I could assume a wagging tail meant that they were happy or excited after all. I mean, there were sometimes that dogs wagging tails meant multiple things. It was when you took a look at their entire body and the situation that you could attempt to make a reasonable guess.
The water stopped as we started to walk to the bench. A pair of towels sitting there. My hand going to pick one up, only for her to swat it. She grabbed it and gestured for me to turn. Her hands moved fast and efficiently as she dried my body. Working a few sections a bit more than needed as the opportunity presented itself.
When she finished, she used the towel to wrap my hair up. Then she tossed the other towel at me. I returned the favor. Maybe doing a bit more than necessary in some places. Her tail was surprising, though it shouldn’t have been. It was the same color as her hair and the hair was just as soft. Yep, apparently Kitsune don’t have fur. She made that very clear when I mentioned the softness of it.
They also seemed to merge right before the tails met the skin. The entire thing moving slightly as she let me feel around the base. Finally done exploring, I handed the towel to her. She chuckled as she sat on the bench. Taking the time to show me how to wrap her hair up.
With a wave of her hand, the bench pushed out two sets of clothes. She gestured at the sea green dress. Sitting on top was a pair of panties and a thin bra. The bra was similar to what she had worn the day before. Taking it, I pushed it into where I thought it should go.
I knew my guess was too low and to one side when the entire thing seemed to squirm and move. Grabbing the panties, I slid them on and felt them settle into place without any issue. Next was the dress. Unlike the one from the day before, this one had no zipper.
Pulling off the towel, I shimmied into dress. Kyla smiled softly as she reached over. Grabbing the fabric at my waist and giving it a soft twist and tug. The dress settled into place. Some sections tightening a little while others loosened. God I was falling in love with the level of technology the Kitsune had.
The majority of human nanotechnology on a military ship had to do with a critical system or their backup. Thankfully, this included waste reclamation and food. The ability to take any length of shower or eat any food we wanted to was one of the few highlights of modern ships.
I had heard that there were some human cities and colonies still struggling to integrate the modern systems into their current setups. It was too old to just upgrade without retrofitting. But at the same time, it was so new that it actively fought against any system trying to take over. A leftover security measure from fear that someone would cause the system to poison the population.

I took the chance to look at myself in the full-length mirror. The women staring back at me was a near stranger. Her face was soft and limbs thin. Skin a pale white that nearly matched the hair. But all of that drew the eye up to her rich lavender eyes.
While everything about her stunned me. The eyes were the thing that struck me as the most off. I had blue eyes, not lavender. I didn’t even know humans could have lavender eyes. Shaking my head, I reminded myself that I was no longer entirely human. That I would never be human again.
Kyla’s warm hand slipping into mine surprised me. She kissed me on the cheek before starting for the door. Walking backward, she pulled me along. As soon as I was walking without her having to pull me along, she slowed down and walked by my side.
We wandered down the halls. I didn’t even realize we were not going directly there until she led me into a room I had never been to before. Other than the floor and the wall with the door, the rest was a transparent material.
While I had come to realize just how advanced the Kitsune were, seeing so much glass in one section was something else. None of the ships I had been on were built with such a room. They were weak points in the structure after all. So, either the Kitsune material was on par with the rest of their armor, or their shields were strong enough to make up the difference.
Every color seemed to fly by the ship in waves as we traveled faster than light. Waves seemed to wash against various parts of the ship. The waves parted and mixed, creating a mesmerizing sight. I had seen videos and images of the effect, but never in person.
My eyes fixed on the view, Kyla dragged me over to a chair and practically pushed me into it. She sat across from me and just stayed quiet. When I was finally able to look away, I realized she was just watching me. Ignoring everything around us as she did so.
With a simple, knowing smile, she reached down and tapped the table. Food grew out of the table. In front of me sat a steak from some animal and another smoothie. The smell of the stake made my mouth water.
“I don’t know about what humans typically eat, but most Kitsune love meat.” She said as she started to cut into her steak.
Not taking the time to talk, I quickly cut off a piece of steak and popped it into my mouth. It held the perfect blend of fat and meat and seemed to be cooked to perfection. The system that created the food had done a perfect job. I only wished I had a baked potato or fries to go with my steak.
As soon as the steak was gone, I wished I had eaten slower. Leaning back in my chair, I slowly sipped at my smoothy. This one reminded me of a blackberry cobbler. I know, I didn’t understand it either.
Kyla finished her plate and seemed to be watching the lights fly by. I ignore the view in order to watch her. The colors lighting her face up in various shades. “I think tomorrow you should start learning about being a Kitsune.” She said.
