It was only yesterday that I believed I would survive this terrible experience. But apparently I am wrong. What a hellish jungle!

  The weather has changed here; ever since I killed the enormous monster yesterday, it has been pouring nonstop. However, I was able to eat because of that monster. I have read the entire old hunter's journal, but I still don't know what this jungle is really like. All of the monsters and animals in here are hostile! The likelihood that I will die will rise dramatically if I blink just once.

  Alejandro hears a sudden stir behind him. Without hesitation, he hurriedly got Khalib ready.

  "I am still unable to use Bavael at this time. His refusal to wake up at this moment is due to the fact that I have previously used him constantly. I'm going to trust my first weapon.”

  In just mere seconds, Alejandro cut the bushes where the sound came from. Alejandro was taken aback by what he witnessed. Something about the size of a typical wolf. Nevertheless, this animal is not a wolf.

  "I know this creature! This is from the section on monsters in the old hunter's journal. This is undoubtedly a Zagnagros! However, why is this species so tiny? The journal states that the average size of a Zagnagros is 1754 cm. With enormous wings and dark red scales, the Zagnagros is a vicious wyvern. This Zagnagros hue is white, why? I'm bothered about this. There probably isn't another creature like this that was described in the journal.”

  The small Zagnagros suddenly approached Alejandro with cautious and started to sniff his pocket bag.

  “What is this wyvern doing? I have no food in my inventory, what are you sniffing at?” Alejandro questioned the Zagnagros as if the wyvern can understand him.

  Bavael abruptly awoke and began to radiate a dazzling crimson light into the vicinity. The wyvern and Bavael exchanged glances as though they were acquainted. "What on earth is going on? Do you two know one another, Bavael?” Alejandro was inquisitive and sought clarification. For a full minute, Bavael did not say anything.

  “This wyvern seems to be lost and wants to go along with you, master. He said he will protect you around the creatures in here as long as you provide him food whenever he gets hungry.” Bavael finally spoke and told its master what the wyvern wants to say to Alejandro.

  “How can you understand the wyvern, Bavael?! Anyway, I think the offer is good. Besides, I need an extra hand for the remaining days so that I can get out of this hell alive. Tell the wyvern I accept the offer, Bavael. Oh, can you also ask the wyvern what is its name?”

  “Very well, master.” Bavael replied and started to communicate to the wyvern telepathically.

  I didn’t know that Bavael can comprehend a wyvern’s language. If that’s the case, does that mean he can also communicate with the other creatures in this jungle? What an extraordinary dagger.

  “The wyvern has replied, master. He said he does not have a name as he had no family nor any companion since he woke up from this world. Also, he thanked you for accepting the offer.” Bavael passed the message from the Zagnagros to Alejandro.

  “Well isn’t that awful. Having no family or any companion growing up? This Zagnagros might be an outcast from its species since the color if his scales are different. It seems the Zagnagros species are not so different from humans, huh. Anyway, thank you Bavael for helping me understand this little wyvern. Before you sleep again, tell him that I will call him Grimclaw from now on.”

  Bavael then passed the message to the wyvern before going to sleep inside the pocket bag.

  “Grimclaw, follow me from now on and I will guide you into victory and revenge against your own species for abandoning you!” Alejandro declared his speech to his new companion, Grimclaw the Silver Zagnagros.

  The small wyvern appears to have taken a liking to Alejandro, as Grimclaw sat down and stared up at him. From now on, Alejandro and Grimclaw will work together in order to survive in this unknown jungle crawling with brutal monsters that will hunt them down for the remaining days.
