Chapter Eleven

  Chapter Eleven

Zhou Bofu and Nai Yunzhongzi didn't say much more, they bowed their hands and left together. On the way, they saw the python spirit and the wild boar spirit. The python spirit seemed to have not seen them before, still chatting with a small monster beside it, while the wild boar spirit was in a state of hot-bloodedness, chattering with a group of mountain spirits and tree monsters. The two monsters looked at each other, sighed a few times, and then left the valley.

Along the way, the two great demons talked about what they had seen and heard today. Zhou Bosymbol turned to Yun Zhongzi and said: "Old Dao, look at that self-proclaimed Emperor of Heaven White Tiger demon, he's not a simple lamp either. In the future, there will definitely be some movement. Today, you and I have saved his face, refused his recruitment, and don't know what kind of trouble will arise in the future."

Yun Zhongzi was quite calm: "It shouldn't be, he also claims to want to revive the You tribe, and we haven't obstructed him either, so there shouldn't be any problems."

"I don't mind, if he dares to do anything, just let him come over. It's actually you, old Daoist, who is being a bit too kind, but you can't fight back, haha."

As they spoke, the two demons flew to the edge of the land. Zhou Bofu specially entrusted the location of his closed-door cultivation site to Yun Zhongzi, repeatedly reminding and entreating him that if anything happened, he must come find him.

Zhou Bofu flapped his wings and flew towards the mountain valley that had been closed off. When he arrived, as usual, he emitted a strange aura to drive away the living creatures in the valley, and then used his wings to stir up a violent gust of wind to blow away the miscellaneous objects in the valley. Then, he landed in the valley, found a sunny mountain wall, and simultaneously activated his four sharp claws. The hard mountain wall was dug out piece by piece like rotten soil under the sharp claws that could split gold and jade. Soon, a cave was dug out, with a curved passageway twisting upwards at an angle of ninety degrees, and a huge flat-bottomed cavern was dug out inside. Zhou Bofu had condensed his magical powers, transforming them into a drill bit, which drilled out a curved ventilation shaft from the top of the cave that penetrated through the mountain peak. Half a day later, everything was ready. Zhou Bofu looked at the results of his labor and nodded in satisfaction, muttering to himself: "Everything is ready now. It's been a waste of several days' effort. Now I can finally start researching my Five-Colored Divine Light."

Close your eyes and start meditation. Upon closer inspection, it turns out that the five-color divine light also has two kinds of practice methods: forward and reverse. The forward method is to practice according to the principle of mutual generation of the five elements, step by step, with each step generating and advancing together. The reverse method, on the other hand, involves first practicing one door, and then using the principle of mutual restraint to gradually eliminate the power of that door and transform it into another element. If you start by cultivating the wood element, after reaching a high level, you use the gold element's method to gradually reduce the power of the wood element and increase the power of the gold element. Then, use the fire element's method to reduce the power of the gold element and increase the power of the fire element... and so on, until the five elements are balanced. These two methods have their own advantages and disadvantages. The forward method is simple and straightforward, just like a waterwheel, as long as you follow the steps and practice regularly, it will be fine. The reverse method, however, requires prior strengthening of one of the five elements with spiritual fruit or elixir; otherwise, the time spent on this method will not differ much from that of the forward method, but the difficulty will be even greater.

Finally, Zhou Bofu knew why the Five-Colored Divine Light Cultivation Method was so simple yet no one except Kong Xuan had succeeded in cultivating it. It turned out that the requirement was to have a body with all five elements complete from birth, and only those born with the innate five-element spiritual energy could cultivate it. Under the heavens, only peacocks born with the innate five-element spiritual energy could cultivate it. Other living beings were not unable to cultivate it, but they would need to practice ten times harder to achieve one-tenth of the effect. Moreover, in order to refine the five elements, they would also need to find post-heavenly and pre-heavenly five-element spiritual treasures to refine the divine light. How could this compare to the ease with which peacocks were born with their five-colored tails?

Zhou Bofu didn't think much about it and started practicing the Five Elements Mutual Generation Wheel. He began with Metal, followed by Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and back to Metal in sequence, circulating his spiritual energy. Soon, the five elements merged into one and automatically started rotating, generating spiritual energy from the corresponding tail feathers, transforming into demonic energy that entered the five elements.

After a long time, the demonic aura in the demon mansion was full, and the five elements of demonic aura were clearly separated, transforming into five-colored inner elixirs that slowly circulated within the demon mansion. Zhou Boshi calmed his mind and began to prepare for the next step of cultivation, refining the five-elemental tail feathers. Only after refinement could the five elements be combined and automatically circulate, allowing his powers to flow freely. It was only at this point that he could be said to have entered the realm of the Five-Colored Divine Light.

Zhou Bofu carefully gathered the demonic energy and began to operate, the matter of refining the five elements' tail feathers could only be done using the method of reversing the five elements, with the power of mutual restraint to gradually refine, if it were a favorable method, the effort would be doubled but the effect would be halved. He started operating the fire-element demonic energy to refine the gold-element tail feather, no other reason, it was just that the gold element was the one he was most familiar with.

In the cave, I don't know how long it's been since day and night merged, nor do I know how many winters and summers have passed. Zhou Bofu has already refined four of the five elements: metal, wood, water, and earth, but he is stuck on the fire element and cannot break through. It's really because he made a mistake at the beginning, not realizing that refining each element would be more difficult than the last. If he had left his most familiar metal element for last, perhaps by now he would have achieved perfection. Now, all he can do is continue to struggle with the fire element.

It's been who-knows-how-many days since then. On this day, outside the mountain valley, a sudden surge of demonic energy erupted, causing mountains to crumble and earth to shatter. Several demons were seen fighting their way towards the valley. One demon was leading the charge, its body covered in wounds, clearly fleeing for its life. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be the Wild Boar Spirit, Tu Sheng. The demons chasing after him were also familiar faces, led by none other than the Iron-Backed Wolf King. The Wild Boar Spirit had already charged into the valley, using his Earth Spike technique to slow down his pursuers, and was now speeding towards the bottom of the valley, shouting at the top of his lungs: "Ba Fu, save me! Yun Zhongzi has been killed by them!!!"

Zhou Bofu was meditating at this moment and did not hear for a while.

The wild boar spirit let out a loud and prolonged cry, using its massive body to crash into the mountain walls and large trees in the valley, attempting to block the pursuing soldiers with rocks and trees. However, it was still unable to hold them back, and its body suffered even more injuries.

The wolf king sneered, "That pig spirit can't even save itself, let alone that strange bird! You'd better behave and let me behead you. My knife is sharpened to perfection, I'll make it a quick and painless death."

He rushed forward as soon as he finished speaking, and cut down a tree branch amidst the flying stones and branches with one slash of his knife.

Tusun was also unstoppable, and the desperate situation brought out his ferocity. He charged forward, baring his tusks, ready to fight to the death. The Wolf King refused to back down, dodging Tusun's attack with a swift movement. With his left hand, he struck Tusun's neck, sending him flying, while his right hand swung his blade in a reverse slash, splattering blood everywhere. The wild boar spirit, Tusun, was now severely injured.

The giant boar's body was knocked flying, crashing into the rocky wall with a shower of shattered stones. The wild boar spirit was already gasping for breath, yet still muttered: "Ba Fu, they killed Yun Zhongzi, the old Daoist..."

The Iron-backed Grey Wolf King let out a cold laugh: "Wait until you've descended into the underworld before speaking again." Then he walked forward, attempting to give that native one final blow.

Just then, an angry voice rang out "Who made you like this?! You native! And what did you just say?!!!"

A giant claw reached out and grabbed towards the Wolf King!
