Chapter Twelve
Iron-backed grey wolf king was caught off guard, and had no choice but to exhaust all his demonic energy to infuse into the great knife. With a swift upward thrust, he attempted to block that one extremely fierce and powerful claw strike, and at worst, could force the claw to retreat for a moment.
That claw strike completely ignored the Wolf King's full-force slash, and still came straight down. The dark iron greatsword was crushed like a paper paste. But also in this block, the claw's momentum had already dissipated, and it slowed down for an instant.
Iron-backed grey wolf reacted extremely quickly, a lazy donkey rolled over and retreated backwards. The poor little monsters behind couldn't see the situation clearly, they only saw a large, multicolored bird with one claw coming down, its head held high with a knife, and then charged forward with great momentum.
The Wolf King, a lazy donkey, rolled and hid behind his subordinates, seeing the Xuan Tie's big knife shatter with one strike, was already frightened to pieces. At this point, he couldn't care about anything else and prepared to escape by burrowing into the ground. However, he heard a cold laugh, and when he turned his head back, a white light flashed by, swallowing up the Wolf King and the little demons.
Also once in the Ten Thousand Great Mountains, the Iron Backed Wolf King who had made a name for himself and a group of small demons were turned into a pile of minced meat without making a sound.
Zhou Bofu's body flashed a white light and disappeared, it turned out that was his successfully cultivated Gengjin divine light, sharp and unmatched. The five-color divine light had not yet achieved perfection, but he could already try to control it. Although he couldn't use it to sweep away the five elements and all things, or capture people, using it to harm or save people and protect himself was no problem. Now that the Gengjin divine light had been tested for its power, it was indeed boundless. Killing a relatively strong demon was like chopping vegetables, they didn't even have the strength to fight back.
Zhou Bofu saw that the Wolf King had turned into a pile of minced meat, so he turned around to examine the injuries of the wild boar spirit who was born from the earth, and at the same time asked about the screams of the wild boar spirits in front.
At a glance, the Wild Boar Spirit's injuries were extremely severe, and his life was already gone by 80 or 90%. Fortunately, Zhou Bofu had made some progress in practicing the Five-Colored Divine Light, which contained many life-saving techniques. A streak of cyan light flashed down, slightly stabilizing the Wild Boar Spirit's injuries. Another flash of cyan light, and the Wild Boar Spirit regained a bit of his vitality, and he hastily opened his mouth to speak.
At the first sentence, Zhou Bofu was furious! Yun Zhongzi is already dead! Even that python spirit Watersheng has also died!
Zhou Bofu was both heartbroken and furious, a surge of nameless fire rising in his chest, the colorless divine light within him also becoming disordered. The demonic energy continued to flow and transform, the spiritual pressure around him growing higher and higher, a terrifying aura beginning to spread between heaven and earth. In the sky, the spiritual energy coalesced into a whirlpool cloud, with purple-red lightning flashing in and out of the cloud like a giant dragon, the earth beginning to tremble, rocks tumbling down from the mountain valleys like rain, but before they could hit the ground, they were suspended in mid-air by an invisible force, shattering into dust.
Zhou Bofu took a step forward in anger, and unconsciously began to walk with a strange rhythmic gait. His feet moved in an orderly manner, but it looked like the dance of a peacock. The Peacock Dance, the Dance of Destruction, five-colored divine light formed a fan shape behind him, each ray sharp as a sword, and at the same time, strange phenomena emerged one after another.
His body was surrounded by the earth, which rose like waves, changing the terrain and altering the course of rivers in the valleys. The riverbeds were raised like cliffs, instantly forming waterfalls and lakes. In the next instant, it was as if a giant sword had slashed through the earth, leaving behind massive cracks with smooth surfaces. In an instant, trees, flowers, and grass within a radius of several miles grew wildly, even dead trees sprouting new buds. In a short time, they went through spring, summer, autumn, and winter, experiencing a hundred years of growth and decay. All the plants withered and turned to ash in a brief moment. The newly formed waterfalls and lakes also experienced a sudden surge, their waves completely unbound by the riverbeds, churning and foaming as they rolled back up. The river water was like a furious beast, its towering waves sweeping away the surrounding rocks. Enormous boulders were lifted by the waves and floated on the surface. In the next second, a red glow appeared all around, and the giant waves vanished. The river transformed into a lava flow. If Zhou Bofu hadn't retained a shred of rationality and control, the Wild Boar Spirit would have been reduced to nothing more than scattered ash, just like the Iron-Backed Wolf and other demons.
With such momentum, Zhou Bofu's chest was filled with raging flames, and the colorless divine light's technique automatically broke through the last fire pass. From this point on, the five-colored divine light finally entered the gate.
After a while, Zhou Bofu finally calmed down and began to listen carefully to Ye Sheng's explanation of the situation.
That wild boar spirit was originally a muddle-headed person, and in his daily life, he was also careless and simple-minded. Now, with serious injuries and the death of his good friend, being pursued by others, his emotions were turbulent, and when speaking, he was completely disorganized and without any coherence. Zhou Boshi patiently listened for a long time. Until that wild boar finally ran out of breath and had to fall asleep before he began to have time to slowly think back and clear up the mess.
It has been thirty years since Zhou Bosi entered the valley and closed the door to cultivate. In these thirty years, both the demon clan in the hundred thousand great mountains and the human cultivators outside the mountain have undergone tremendous changes.
Thirty years ago, a tiger demon named Di Shitian established a black society organization in his own valley on that day after, called "Xuanling Jiao". At that time, many demons who listened to his speech on the ground joined, including the wild boar spirit Tusheng and the python spirit Shuisheng. However, the demons were used to being free and scattered, and Di Shitian couldn't force them to gather together, so he could only make some restrictions, set up a name division, and appointed himself as the leader of the sect. He also recruited the flower demon Huayu, the fox demon, and the demon kings who guarded around the flower demon into the sect as guardians, but the beautiful snake woman did not join the sect.
Over the next decade, Emperor Release Heaven and those multiple Protectors traveled extensively to mediate disputes among various monsters, teach monster magic, and even fought a few battles with monks who entered the mountains to capture monsters. They also established many good relationships with mountain monsters and accepted more monsters into their teachings for protection. During this period, the black society's business also made significant progress, and the group of monsters in the teaching had some discipline. At that time, Yun Zhongzi also helped the group of monsters several times, and Tu Sheng and Shui Sheng were very happy in the teaching. The relationship between Xuanling Teaching and other monsters became extremely friendly.
Twenty years ago, under the pretext of a fight with a human cultivator, the Xuanling Sect and the demons of the Ten Thousand Great Mountains finally tore off all their faces and officially started a large-scale war. In the past decade, there have been countless big and small battles, with both sides having wins and losses. Many people on both sides died, many demons in the Ten Thousand Great Mountains died, and even several demon kings fell. Coincidentally, few of the dead demons were from the Xuanling Sect, and none of its high-ranking members died. On the surface, it seemed that the demons of the Xuanling Sect were all acting together, while those who died were solo fighters who were defeated by others. Several of the demon kings who died had no interest in the Xuanling Sect and even had a few who had previously spoken out against them.
At that time, some monsters with a conscience felt that something was wrong, but soon in another great war, several high-ranking elders of the Xuanling Sect were ambushed and killed by human monks. The Eagle King and the Dark Crow King were among them, and the Great Ape King was also seriously injured and escaped. Later, Emperor Tiān thought that the elders and monster kings were avenging their deaths, so he killed several powerful human monks and punished some of the elders' subordinates for treason. Those dissenting voices disappeared into thin air. At that time, due to differences in intelligence, the python spirit was already a leader on one side, with over a hundred small monsters under his command. The wild boar spirit was still a monster who shouted and killed directly under the main pavilion. Yun Zhongzi, the old crane, was still an outsider of the sect, and indeed lived up to his name as a leisurely cloud and wild crane, only lending a hand when someone was dying or injured.
Ten years ago, the Xuanling Sect had already surpassed the Shanwai Xiushi Sect in power and influence. In the mountains, its authority was growing by the day. Most of the young and old demons had joined the sect. However, there were many factions within the sect, and it was not uncommon for demons to be executed on charges of treason. But the demons did not seem to mind; instead, they were enthusiastic about the current state of affairs, which they believed was the greatest era for their kind in a thousand years. The old crane, Yun Zhongzi, remained as he had always been, and so did Tu Sheng. Only Shui Sheng had risen through the ranks and now held an important position in the sect's headquarters.
One year ago, Emperor Tian announced at a meeting in the sect that Yun Zhongzi had been leaking intelligence to several factions and colluding with traitors within the sect. He planned an operation to capture all the traitors, but Yun Zhongzi was tipped off by his friend, Shui Sheng, a water spirit, who had received news from a fellow sect member. Yun Zhongzi escaped, but was later killed by a group of demonic creatures sent by the sect. Zhuo Sheng, a wild boar spirit, was rescued by Yun Zhongzi and told about the events leading to Shui Sheng's death. The two demons joined forces to escape.
During their flight, Tu Sheng suggested several times that they flee to Zhou Bofu's mountain retreat, but only Yun Zhongzi knew its location. Yun Zhongzi refused to go there, fearing it would put Zhou Bofu in danger. Eventually, Yun Zhongzi was mortally wounded by Emperor Tian himself during a pursuit and killed by a Beast Tamer sect member while trying to escape. Zhuo Sheng managed to flee and made his way to Zhou Bofu's retreat, as instructed by Yun Zhongzi before his death.
Afterwards, the Wolf King continued the pursuit, but Zhuo Sheng finally arrived at the location today, fulfilling Yun Zhongzi's last wish to warn Zhou Bofu to leave the Ten Thousand Great Mountains.
Zhou Bofu's mind cleared of the cause and effect, feeling both pain and regret. "Back then, I should have just ignored everything and pulled Yun Zhongzi into seclusion with me!!! I always thought that Emperor Tiande was a formidable opponent, but I shouldn't have underestimated him!!! What a pity for Yun Zhongzi, my old friend from the Water Clan! You were always gloomy and a bit slippery, afraid of trouble, but in the end, you turned out to be a real man, unlike me!!!!"
"I recall that Emperor Taizong was indeed a hero, with the motto 'If you're not my friend, then you're my enemy' in his heart. He used the case of Yun Zhongzi to purge the internal affairs, and after 30 years of careful planning, I pity my fellow Taoist who was innocent and kind-hearted, yet suffered from unforeseen disaster. On that day, when I spoke with my fellow Taoist, I should have anticipated this day would come, it's all my fault!!"
"Thinking of it again, 'Yun Zhongzi' is also a fellow Daoist... Alas, why must it be so? Why didn't you come to me directly? Now that you've called for me, how can I repay you?"
In my heart, I recall the words "Fellow Taoist, please stay" from back then. Memories of our years of friendship and guidance in cultivation flooded my mind, making me even more heartbroken and unable to contain my rage! "I will not rest until this vengeance is fulfilled, or I am no longer a demon!!!"
