e nightmare always came when Raviel was most vulnerable— when the solitude of his endless existence left him raw, exposed. Tonight, though, it was more than just a nightmare. It was a warning.
He found himself in the middle of a vast, desolate field, the grass beneath his feet was blackened and twisted, as though it had been scorched by some unnatural fire. The sky above was a roiling mass of dark, suffocating clouds, swirling violently in every direction. Thunder rumbled in the distance, but there was no rain. Just the oppressive hum of something watching, something waiting.
Raviel’s breath quickened as he looked around. His heart pounded in his chest, a primal instinct telling him to run, but there was nowhere to go. The field stretched endlessly in every direction, a never-ending sea of twisted, blackened grass, and somewhere in the distance, he could hear whispers. Faint at first, but growing louder, more urgent.
His blue eyes, like the wings of a butterfly— darted nervously from side to side. The air felt thick with dread, like it was pressing in on him from all angles. The silence was suffocating, interrupted only by the distorted whispers that seemed to echo from the very ground itself.
Then, he saw it.
A shadow— no, shadows—emerged from the depths of the blackened field. Twisted, contorted figures, crawling on all fours with grotesque, elongated limbs. Their faces were obscured by dark hoods, but their eyes… their eyes glowed with an unnatural, sickly yellow hue. Their heads tilted at impossible angles, snapping in rapid, jerking movements as they inched closer, their mouths twisted into jagged, toothless grins that stretched far too wide to be natural.
"My dear... Why did you live without me..."
"Come to me..."
"Don't you want to die..."
"Come" "come here..."
Raviel’s pulse quickened.
No… not the echoes again…
He staggered backward, his feet tangling in the thick, dark grass. His hands trembled as he clutched his head, feeling the familiar sense of wrongness closing in around him. The whispers had grown louder, no longer indecipherable, but now they were his voice, taunting him, mocking him.
"Is this your eternity, Raviel?" a voice rasped, so close that it felt like it was coming from inside his skull. "Endlessly repeating your mistakes… your regrets… forever..."
The ground beneath his feet trembled, cracking open as though the earth itself had turned against him. Raviel’s eyes widened as the earth split apart, a rift opening deep beneath him. Dark, writhing tendrils shot out from the crack, snaking their way toward him like hungry snakes. He felt their cold, clammy touch on his skin, the weight of their presence pressing down on him, suffocating him.

"Live... Live..."
"Stay alive..."
"Live..."
"Live for us..."
"You can't die yet..."
“No…” Raviel whispered, backing away, but the shadows were closing in. He could hear them, feel them breathing. There was nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.
The figures emerged from the abyss, their grotesque forms fully revealed now. Their long, clawed hands reached out for him, their mouths open wide, revealing rows of sharp, jagged teeth that gleamed in the dim light. The stench of decay filled the air, the smell of rot and death, a reminder of the endless cycle that Raviel had been trapped in.
"You… can’t escape"
one of the figures hissed, its voice a sickening croak that sounded like a thousand voices speaking at once.
"You never will."
Raviel felt the bile rise in his throat as the figure’s eyes locked onto him, its gaze burning through him, unraveling his very soul. He could feel his immortality press down on him like a weight, heavy and suffocating. Each breath was a struggle, each heartbeat a painful reminder that he would never be free.
“No…” Raviel gasped, his voice trembling with fear.
“Please… I can’t take it anymore…”
The figures stepped closer, their twisted limbs creaking with every movement, their fingers curling around his arms, pulling him toward them. The world around him blurred, spinning as the shadows whispered louder, their voices melding into a cacophony of despair.
"You belong to us… Forever…"
The darkness closed in, swallowing him whole, but before he could succumb, a piercing, shrill scream echoed through the void. It was his own voice, but it didn’t feel like him. It felt like something else— a distant, disembodied echo of his torment. And then, as if drawn by his scream, something worse appeared.
A figure. A woman. Or at least, something that resembled one.
She was cloaked in black, her form impossibly tall, her face hidden behind a veil of shadow. Her eyes were nothing but hollow sockets, and when she spoke, it was as if the very air around him froze.
“Raviel,” the voice was a whisper, but it tore through his mind like ice.
“Why do you call to me? Have you not learned yet? You will never escape.”
Raviel’s throat constricted. He tried to speak, to beg her, but no words came out. His body trembled as the shadowed figure reached for him, her fingers curling like claws. He could feel her touch, icy and burning at the same time, as though she were draining the life from him.
“No!” Raviel screamed, his voice raw with desperation.
“I don’t want to live like this anymore! Please… Please, I can’t…!”
The figure’s smile grew wider, the empty sockets of her eyes glimmering with malice.
“Then die.”
She pulled him closer, and in an instant, Raviel felt his body jerk violently, as though he were being torn apart at the seams. His mind fractured, each piece of his past, each life he had lived flashing before his eyes in a chaotic, horrific rush.
He saw the first life— his innocent, naive self, too young to understand the curse that had been placed upon him. He watched as he died, over and over, in countless ways— drowning, burning, stabbed, crushed— all the violent, cruel deaths of his past selves. The faces of people he once loved flickered before him, each one dying just as painfully as the last, and the agony he felt from losing them again and again was more than he could bear.
"Please... stop..." he gasped, his voice breaking.
"I can't do this anymore!"
But the figure only laughed, a haunting, echoing sound that filled his mind.
“You wanted the blessing of immortality. Now live with it… forever.”
The world around him blurred, the nightmares melding into one continuous loop. There was no escape, no end. Just endless, suffocating terror.

Raviel shot upright in bed, gasping for air, his chest heaving. His body was soaked in sweat, his pale skin cold to the touch, as though he had been pulled from the depths of an abyss. His heart pounded in his chest, echoing in his ears. The room around him was too quiet, too still, and yet he could still feel it— the suffocating weight of the nightmare, lingering like a shadow.
His hand shot out to the side, reaching for the wall as though he might collapse. The cold stone beneath his fingers grounded him, but the terror from the dream didn’t dissipate. He felt like he could still hear the whispers, still feel the cold fingers of the shadowed woman on his skin. The fear was real— too real.
Raviel’s breath was ragged, his blue eyes wide with panic. He stared at the darkness around him, the familiar serenity of his chamber now a suffocating trap.
He had been living in this cursed eternity for what felt like forever. His immortal body, with its black hair, pale skin, and butterfly-blue eyes, was a prison. The curse of immortality had been a blessing once, a gift from the Butterfly Spirit, but now it was nothing more than a cruel joke. A never-ending nightmare.
He closed his eyes, his voice barely a whisper.
"Please... end it. Please. I can’t do this anymore."
But no answer came. Only the silence. The empty, suffocating silence.... And the end of his current world.
