Chapter 15 Meeting Up with Victor

Pain, that was all I felt after combat training with my dad. He didn’t pull any punches, and I had more broken bones than I could count, making me realize that 206 was a lot. The combat training started out great, dad showed me how to throw a proper punch, kick, blocks and to deflect an attack with my bare hands. Then the real hell started, I had to use everything I learned in a sparring match. Dad didn’t pull any punches and pounded all the knowledge into my bones, making sure I didn’t forget.

The session lasted until about 4 pm and seeing the time, I quickly got to my feet, albeit shakily.

“I need to go.” I said tiredly

“Where? You aren’t just trying to skip out on your training are you?” Dad asked

“No, I uhm, promised Sasha to come over and study with her.” I lied

  “Really?” He asked skeptically

“Yep, so I’m gonna clean up and give my bones time to heal.” I said and limped into the house. I was relieved that they bought that lie and headed upstairs to take a bath.

  “She’s definitely lying.” Vivian said

“Yeah, someone should follow her and see what she’s up to.” Camilla said

“I’ll do it, I want to know what my daughter is up to.” Lilian said

  Chrissy POV

I left the house around 5 pm, fully healed and ran into the town through the forest and made sure to head in the general direction Sasha’s house as I left. Once in the town, I walked towards Victor’s house, I wasn’t too sure which house he lived in, but I’ve lived in this town my entire life and I knew everyone here and where they lived. So, by process of elimination, I should be able to find him. I wandered Fergusson street for fifteen minutes, before I ended up on the eastern most point of the town, a large house which was recently refurbished.

“I should have known.” I said to myself. That house have been unoccupied for as long as I could remember, and it has been that way for the last hundred years or so. The town folk had no idea who lived there before and no one bought it before, until recently. The refurbishment started around a month ago, I heard from Jayce that someone hired the town folk to refurbish the house as well as add some new rooms and such. I should have guessed it was Victor since he claimed to live on Ferguson street, and all the houses except that one was occupied. The house was two stories high, painted blue with a red door, a red brick wall surrounded the house with a red metal gate, a cobblestone path leading to the door and a garden of beautiful, torn filled red roses around the property.

“You’re late.” Victor said as he opened the door. He was wearing a grey tee shirt and sweat bottoms, and smelled like rose petals and shampoo.

“We never agreed on a time.” I said

“Well, I thought you would be at school and you would just try and stalk me home again, so I didn’t think it was necessary to set a time.” He said bluntly and I blushed in embarrassment

“By the way, why weren’t you at school today?” He asked

  “I was home, doing…stuff.” I said

“Right, vampire, or rather, halfling stuff.” He said nodding his head slowly

“That doesn’t matter right now. I’m here to help you like I promised. So invite me in and we can get started.” I said and he looked at me with a smirk

“What?” I asked with a confused expression

“You need me to invite you in, so that means you can’t come inside without my permission.” He said and I was even more confused

“Why does that matter?” I asked

“How badly do you want to come inside?” He said and leaned against the door post with a cunning smile

“Not as badly as you might think.” I said, folding my arms with a defiant smirk.

“Alright, bye Chrissy.” He said and started to close the door

“What are you doing?” I asked surprised, my resistance crumbling away

  “Closing my doors.” He said

“But why? Don’t you want to learn if you are a supernatural or not?” I hurriedly asked in disbelief

“Not as badly as you want to teach me, apparently.” He said and the door was almost closed

“Wait a minute. You can’t be serious.” I said hurriedly and stopped door from closing with my hand.

“If you want to come in, all you have to do is say, ‘please Victor, let me in. Pretty please.’” He said and my lips quivered in rage.

‘This little fucker.’ I thought angrily and my anger only increased when I saw the smirk on his face.

“Please Victor, let me in. Pretty please.” I said, after taking in a breath of air, and swallowing my pride

“No, more seductively.” He said and I growled at him, swearing I was gonna beat this little bastard into a bloody pulp

“Please Victor, let me in. Pretty please.” I said seductively, blinking my eyes for the last part and he smiled

“Come in.” He said and opened the door wide and as soon as I stepped inside, I delivered a hard punch to his stomach, causing him fall to his knees in pain. And I huffed as I walked past

“Ow.” He said as he closed the door. I looked around the house and I could see neatly arranged living room furniture that smelled brand new. There was an enchanting blue flower in a vase, it looked like a rose, sitting on the table, and I could smell it’s scent from here, very soothing.

“Shoes.” He said and I looked down to see a red carpet below my feet and quickly took off my shoes

“Do you want a tour or you want to get started right away?” He asked

“A tour.” I said and he proceeded to show me around the entire house. He brought me into the kitchen, which had beautiful mahogany tables and chairs over white marble tiles. The sinks and counter tops were surprisingly clean, not that I thought it would be messy. There was another flower similar to the blue one in the living room, but this one was pink and it’s potent scent gave me a feeling of joy. Next, we went to the dining room, which was pretty normal, with the same mahogany furniture, but the floor was covered in a fluffy red rug and the room also had a red flower similar to the others that made me feel me feel relaxed. We went upstairs and the corridor had a total of five bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs.

“Ok, let’s end the tour here. Unless you want to enter my bedroom.” He said suggestively, but I knew he was bluffing and decided to put his bluff to the test

“I just might.” I said seductively and walked towards his bedroom door, but he quickly blocked my path

“Vampire or no vampire, you are not going into my room. At least not right now.” He said resolutely

“Alright fine.” I said and both of us headed back downstairs into the living room. I looked over to two framed photos on the table beside the flowers. The photos showed him, along with the woman in the photos mom showed me and the little girl as well. There was a man in the photos, he looked middle aged, like my grandpa, with red hair and a silver streak of hair at the front along with a neatly trimmed beard and mustache. But there was something that struck me as strange in these photos, in one picture, there was a woman, who looked like she was in her late twenties incredibly beautiful, with red eyes and long silver hair just like Victor. She looked incredibly similar to the other woman, except that the other woman was younger and had a streak of purple in her hair. The odd thing about the photos was that this woman was in one photo, but not the next. And I’m about ninety percent sure that she’s Victor’s mother, as well as the two other girls being his sisters . So what happened to her?

“Oh, that’s my family. That’s my mom, my dad and my sisters.” He said, when he saw me looking at the pictures

“Why is your mom not in the other picture? Is she…?” I said and paused, as I realized I was being a little insensitive

“Dead? No, I just haven’t seen her in a while. A few years to be exact.” He said, with a sad look on his face and I placed the pictures back on the table. An awkward silence filled the room, as I realized I had no idea what to say after he revealed he hadn’t seen his mom in years. I have no idea how I would have felt if my mom disappeared for a year or two without telling me anything or calling me.

“Anyway, what should we do now? Have you figured out a way to tell if I’m supernatural or not?” He asked, breaking the awkward silence

  “I might have a few.” I said
