“Chrissy…you’re awake.” Elliot said, stunned as he saw his daughter step outside
“What’s going on? And Victor, why are you pointing a gun at my father and grandpa?” Chrissy asked with a frown, but Victor didn’t put his gun down
“Because they are trying to make me a family meal.” He said
“What?” Chrissy asked incredulously and looked over at Elliot for an explanation
“Your friend Victor came over for some reason, and these four idiots attacked him.” Vivian said
“What, why?” Chrissy asked confused and disappointed in her family, especially her parents
“They thought Victor hexed you or something to make you sick.” Vivian explained and Chrissy’s frown deepened
“And they thought if they killed me, you’d wake up and the curse or hex or whatever would be lifted. How 17th century of you, you bunch of fucking Neanderthals.” Victor said spitefully and they snarled at him
“Victor!!” Chrissy exclaimed,
“Yeah, fuck me for being angry that your family quite literally just tried to kill me because they have the mind of 17th century hillbilly. And fuck me for coming to house full of vampires because I was worried about you.” He said angrily and Chrissy blinked twice in surprise.
“You were worried about me?” Chrissy asked
“Yes, you told me you were coming to school today and you looked fine yesterday, and you didn’t answer any of my texts or calls so I thought something was wrong and decided to pay you a visit. I should guessed that was a bad idea.” Victor said and Chrissy looked at him for a second
“Why don’t you come inside?” She offered and Victor looked at her like she was crazy
“Relax, they won’t attack you again. I promise.” She said, and Victor thought for a second
“Fine, I’ll take you up on your offer. But I’m not putting this away.” He said, waving his gun
“That’s alright, now that our little misunderstanding is cleared up, let’s all head inside. And that includes you four.” Camilla said, looking at her sons, husband and daughter in law. Victor took up his bag before heading inside, keeping an eye on all of them as he did.
“So, what’s in the bag? More weapons?” Chrissy asked while sniffling as she and Victor sat on a couch together while the others sat on the other three.
“No, I actually bought you gifts.” Victor said and took out two items from his bag. A metal cookie box and an enclosed glass vase, it was closed on all sides, with a beautiful multicolored Camellia flower. The flower had hues of pink, purple, light blue and green hues on it’s petals. As it floated in the transparent liquid within, small beautiful particles fell off it and disappeared into the liquid.

“This is a box of cookies, which now that I think about it, is dumb and this-” Victor said, but he was cut off by Vivian who snatched the flower out of his hands
“A pleasant dream bloom. It’s a dream flower that is said to give pleasant dreams. Where did you get this?” Vivian asked excitedly
“Why do you want to know?” He asked with a smirk and her eyelids twitched
“Because, you little shit, this is a magical plant, which are pretty rare on this continent? If this plant grows somewhere on this continent we can earn some serious money.” Vivian said
“How much exactly is this flower worth?” Alaric asked
“100 Aurous coins a pop, 150 if it’s in vase like this.” Vivian answered and Alaric smiled widely
“We could replenish our reserves if we sold a few of those. We could have probably earned even more if any of us were skilled potion makers. So where did you get the flower kid?” Alaric said and Victor furrowed his brow
“Kid?” Victor said sounding offended, but cleared his throat before answering
“I got it here, in this town.” Victor said
“In Mystic Falls? I’ve been here for thirteen years and I haven’t seen any of these flowers. So why don’t you tell me before I break another one of your ribs?” Alaric said and his eyes glowed menacingly
“Alaric, that’s enough. You don’t have to say if you don’t want to.” Camilla said to Victor, and looked at Alaric with a stern look, causing him to lean back on the couch with a snort.
“But I’m telling the truth, they do grow here.” Victor reaffirmed
“Really, then tell us where?” Vivian said and Victor looked at her for a second
“No.” Victor answered simply and she pouted.
“Whether they grow here or not, that one is mine, so gimme.” Chrissy said and held out her hands towards Vivian who handed the flowers back to her, and she grabbed it before coughing a bit.
“Are you sure you’re alright?” Victor asked in a concerned tone
“Yeah.” She said, looking at him dreamily and coughed again before snuggling against him. Suddenly, she pounced on him and tried to bite him in the neck, but caught her by the shoulders
“Yeah, that was predictable.” Victor said as he held back Chrissy, who snarled at him with her fangs on full display. She wasn’t at full strength, so Victor was easily able to hold her back until she calmed down and snuggled beside him sniffling
“Does anyone of you know what’s actually wrong with her? She’s feverish, delirious and obviously very hungry. Have you guys tried giving her blood?” He asked as Chrissy sniffed the scratch mark on his face
“We have tried blood, and she puked it up. We ran some tests on her, and it’s giving us all the sign of a normal fever. And she has been getting weaker and weaker by the hour.” Lilian said on the verge of tears and Elliot comforted her
“She was unconscious for the entire day until you paid us a little visit. And she seems to really want to drink your blood…to a rather pathetic and disturbing degree.” Vivian said as Chrissy desperately kept trying to bite Victor, but he held her back.
“Well, she isn’t sinking her fangs in me again. I’m not keen on the idea of being drained of blood again.” Victor said.
“We have blood bags at the hospital. We could draw your blood and then feed it to Chrissy.” Lilian said hopefully and Victor had a look of apprehension on his face, causing Elliot to instantly become enraged.
“Look, we cannot force you, we can but we won’t, but Chrissy needs your blood or she might die. If you care about her then please, allow us to do this.” Camilla said in a gentle voice, being the voice of reason for the family
“Alright, I’ll do it.” He replied and she smiled
“I’ll drive, the rest of you meet us there.” Vivian said
