A hundred years ago, in 1925, a discovery changed how we mine and create products forever: the ability to create new spaces with music. This is not without its dangers, as monsters called The Broken try to kill the musicians and break free. To mine these spaces, a corporation called The MMA (Musician Mining Agency) was born. Makoto has just awakened his powers as a musician through being a test subject (and changing gender) but does not want to join the MMA, so he forms a ragtag group to do it himself.
