Scarlett’s life was unassuming and simple. Her mother protected her from all emotional and physical harm, her uncle raised her like a father, and her siblings cherished her docile nature. On the last day of school – only a week before graduation – she wakes up from unconsciousness in a world so different from her own. Scarlett’s constitution is weak, her mind a depressing mush of unrelenting self-hatred and doubt, but she must preserver in her new world. Her family is out there – somewhere – and she must find them, or at least die trying.
