Orphaned ten years past, Abel was taken in by the grizzled executioner of the small village of Selen in Eastern Heythaxia. In this quiet village, time itself seemed to run at a standstill and Abel was more than content with such an uneventful life. He never dreamed of adventures, dragons and magic like other boys his age and never went out of his way to cause trouble. Yet during that Year End Celebration of Etifas in the year 712 of the Imperial Calendar, the clock begins to turn once more.
