A conspiracy unfolds five-thousand years after the disappearance of Vir, the transcended god. Lorien, a fourteen-year old boy from the New Liceas skyport threads constantly between the wealthy upper districts and the impoverished underground slums. After coming across a mysterious artifact he recovered from the aftermath of an impossible chase, Lorien starts to experience strange visions, echoes, and finally the appearance of a demon called Laplace.
