Eden no Ori chapter 1-1

Eden no Ori is a story about Akira and his classmates who find themselves on a plane that crashes on an island inhabited by different animal species thought to be extinct. Some classmates are eaten alive by the island's animals, while others turn to desperation and kill each other. Now, Akira and a few survivors struggle to survive through this nightmare.

The story now delves into what happened before the airplane crash on the island.

Lee woke up with a start, his heart pounding in his chest. He quickly checked his surroundings, his eyes wide in disbelief. ["Where am I? What's happening?"] Panic and confusion flooded his mind.

Frantically, he looked down at his own body and froze. A strange watch was strapped to his wrist, its display glowing with unfamiliar symbols. He had no recollection of putting it on. ["What is this?"]

Lee was shocked by the situation he found himself in. ["What is that screen on this watch? Hell, I don't even have a watch. How the hell did I get here? The last thing I remember was tapping 'yes' on a strange message on my sister's computer."]

"Who are you guys, and where the heck did my beer disappear to?" an angry voice sounded beside him.

Lee turned his head and saw a blond-haired guy rising from the ground. This person appeared to be around 24 years old, standing at 5.85 feet tall. He had an average face with a tattoo of an angry snake on his neck.

In Lee's view, there were four others lying on the ground beside the blond man, making a total of three men and three women.

"Calm down, young man. I don't know how we got here, but your anger won't change anything in this situation, will it?" a woman's voice spoke soothingly.

Lee turned to see a woman about two meters away from the blond-haired guy. She seemed to be around 30 years old with long black hair. From what he could see, she had at least a C-cup breast and exuded a nice mature charm.

The blond-haired guy retorted, "What did you say to me, lady? My temper is already bad because of this situation. So shut up, or I'll... you know what? Never mind."

The woman with mature charm appeared surprised and quickly responded, "i said What you heard want me to reapet myself ?"

The blond-haired guy's voice grew louder, "That's it. I gave you a chance, but you still didn't listen. Now I have to make you shut up myself."

Lee watched as the situation escalated. The blond-haired guy lunged towards the woman, raising his fist to strike her. Lee could feel the tension in the air. He wanted to intervene but was too far away to react in time.

As the woman closed her eyes and raised her hands to shield herself, moments passed.

However, the anticipated blow's impact never came. She opened her eyes to see a hand only inches from her head. In that hand was the fist of the blond-haired guy. She glanced behind her to identify her savior and saw a tall Mexican man standing there, a big smile on his face. This Mexican man had brown hair, wore a purple cap, yellow shirt, and black suspenders, and stood at 6.8 feet tall (2.07 m). She felt safe behind his towering figure.

The blond-haired guy was taken aback by how the Mexican guy had halted his punch. [How did he manage that? I had great momentum from running, but this Mexican guy's hand didn't even budge. It was as if his hand were made of solid steel. One thing is certain: this big Mexican guy is strong.]

The Mexican guy, Oscar, grinned and addressed the situation. "Guys, let's all take a moment to calm down and think about where we are and how we can get out of here. By the way, my name is Oscar."

The tension eased as the Mexican guy released his grip, allowing the blond-haired guy to step back. The woman with mature charm, Jan, smiled at Oscar and approached him. "Thank you for your help, Oscar. My name is Jan. I have no idea how I got here."

The blond-haired guy, now known as Jack, responded with a slightly elevated voice. His expression had changed, and he admitted, "I'm sorry. I have some issues that I can't control. As for your question, I don't have a clue about where we are or why we're here."

Lee raised his hand with a smile and a light voice. "Hello, my name is Thomas Lee."

The other two women introduced themselves: May, who look like shy teenager, and Ira, a tall woman with long blond hair and blue-green eyes. She wore a green top and long jeans. Standing at 6.31 feet (1.92 m), she was remarkably tall and beautiful. Lee even speculated that she might work as a supermodel in the real world.

Lee's gaze lingered on Ira, stopping at her chest. [Wow, look at that size. Her chest must be at least a D-cup, or even an E-cup. People could suffocate in there. But now isn't the time for this; focus, Lee.]

Ira noticed Lee's gaze but brushed it off, focusing on the others. "Perhaps I know something, though it's really crazy idea."

Lee asked, "What's not possible, Ira?"

Ira responded, "My little brother used to tell me about the manga he liked, and 'Eden no Ori' is one of the manga he mentioned."

Jan interjected, "Manga, like comic books? Are you saying we're inside a comic?"

Ira defended her idea. "Don't look at me like that. I know it sounds crazy, but I'm absolutely certain that 'Eden no Ori' is a manga. The floating board in the air and the information on our watches indicate that we've entered the story."

Lee checked the screen again and indeed found the world category record to be "Eden no Ori." If Ira's theory held true, they were indeed trapped within a manga's storyline. Suddenly, a strange sound filled the air.

  Crack.

A loud cracking noise echoed from above.

Lee’s head snapped upward. A hundred yards above them, a fracture had formed in the sky—like shattered glass. From within the crack, a figure emerged.

A tall man, cloaked in an ominous presence.

Then, a booming voice filled the air.

  "Well another job beginning ."

The pressure that followed was crushing.

Lee's breath hitched as an invisible force pressed down on him. His legs trembled. His lungs felt like they were being squeezed. Beside him, Jan and Ira had already fallen to their knees. Jack was flat on the ground.

May—the youngest of them—had completely fainted.

  Yet Oscar stood firm, unfazed.

Lee’s mind raced. This can’t be real. No human should have this kind of power.

Oscar finally broke the silence. "I've heard that some animals can emit pressure to weaken their prey. But for a person to do it at this level… that’s a whole different beast."

Lee clenched his fists, struggling to stay upright.

"What is this place? Who is that man? And how the hell did we end up here?"

Then, a final memory flashed through his mind—something he had read earlier on his watch’s screen.

The words came back to him with eerie clarity.

  "He is the Guide."
