Chapter Thirteen
Three months later, Jin Chan'er followed Heart Wisdom Master Sister to the Scripture Library of the Grand Temple to read scriptures. As soon as they arrived at the valley entrance, several disciples surrounded them, and a few young monks stared foolishly at Jin Chan'er, who only smiled without speaking.
"Hey! You few, we two want to go to the library."
"We'll just chat with this junior sister, you can go back to the library!"
A robust monk said.
"You guys will be reincarnated for hundreds of generations before we meet again!"
The mental master sister sneered.
All the monks were angry and scolded him with foul language:
"How is your cultivation with Master Xin Yi?"
There is also a monk's way:
"Xīn zhì, Xiǎo Ní mǎn shí suì le ba? Tā diē shì nǎ wèi dàshī ya?"
Translation: "Intelligent, Little Ni is ten years old now, right? Who's her father, which great master?"
Her mind was on the verge of a fierce argument, but Jin Chan'er pulled her hand and quickly left.
"Sister, I must reason with these evil monks."
"Never mind, sister. There's no need to argue with someone who understands reason, and it's pointless to argue with those who don't! Why bother being on the same level as these petty people? Just pretend you haven't seen these wicked individuals."
"But they have cheated people too much!"
"Sister, this might be a tribulation of your mental state on the path to enlightenment. If you can get through this difficulty, your mental state will become even stronger and who knows, maybe you'll break through the bottleneck of your cultivation by yourself!"
His mind was stunned for a moment, and then he thought for a while and said:
"My junior sister's Buddhist teachings are profound, and I, her senior sister, am also enlightened!"
As he spoke, he glanced at his junior sister in surprise. The two of them then went to the Scripture Storage Pavilion together. Before they reached the entrance, a rather refined-looking monk blocked their way at the door.
"Wow, this junior sister is really beautiful!"
"What's the meaning of this?"
His mind was shocked and he asked:
"Mind your own business, sister! I thought you'd know better than to think that I, a poor monk who has long attained the realm of gathering and understanding, would be bothered by your trivial cultivation. Is there anything you need my help with, sister?"
Na Duo Wen looked at Jin Chan'er and saw that she was elegant in demeanor, with warm and gentle speech.
"Many have heard that Jin Chan'er, my junior sister, is a cultivator who has hung her plaque in our sect and should not be treated casually!"
That many heard but didn't look at Heart Wisdom, only waved his monk's sleeve, a yellow light ball suddenly flew out, and struck Heart Wisdom tens of feet away. Heart Wisdom spat out several mouthfuls of blood, turned pale, and stumbled to get up from the ground, saying to Jin Chan'er:
"Sister, I'm useless......"
"Shut up! You stinky brat, say another word and I'll deal with you!"
"I've heard a lot about you, brother. Now that my intelligent sister has left, let's have a chat."
"Good! This is indeed true!"
"However, my Jin Qian'er is not good at speaking empty words!"
That many heard the sound of the jade dripping, and was overjoyed. He then ordered two door-to-door monk disciples to send Heart Wisdom out of the valley. Although Heart Wisdom did not agree, his body had already been injured, and he was no match for the two powerful monks, so he was carried out of the exit of the Hu Valley Array and thrown onto the road. Heart Wisdom had no choice but to hurry back to the Miao Fa An to ask Master Chan Xin Sheng to come and rescue him.
Jin Chan'er gazed at Xin Zhi as he left the valley, then turned back and said:
"How old is Master Duan this year?"
Upon hearing this question, he was overjoyed in his heart and thought to himself:
"It works!"
The way of easy and comfortable living is to be carefree and unrestrained.
"My foolish brother is over 400 years old this year! We've known each other for over a hundred years too."
"Oh! It's not easy for Master Duheng to cultivate, is it? A cultivator must focus his heart on the Tao in order to achieve something. If one's state of mind is ruined like Master Duheng's, it will be difficult to ascend to a higher level."
"Hah... Hah... Those who cultivate, the strong are revered. What is state of mind? Overpowering and brutal force is state of mind! Cultivators only care about the law! The power of the law is fierce, cultivation is superior, every move is victorious. Then would you still fear that the Great Dao is hopeless?"
"Many have heard of Master Brother, you must have ruined many female cultivators!"
"I've often heard that in the eyes of Buddha and Bodhisattva, only they are enlightened beings, while all others are just ordinary objects. Why should a woman cultivate?"
"Good! I'll take your advice. I've heard that among those who cultivate the Way, the capable are revered. Now, I will destroy your hundred years of cultivation, but leave you with the realm of condensed origin. After all, it's not easy to cultivate the Way, what do you think?"
"Hmm? What do you mean? ... Do you want to break through my boundary? ... What did you just say?"
Na Duo Wen was stunned, unable to react for a moment. Could it be that this cultivator of the Fa body period had been frightened silly? However, his heart suddenly felt a chill, and the surroundings seemed like steel walls, pressing in on him fiercely. His entire body was unable to move. He was shocked and lost color, hastily urging his Fa incantation to defend against it, but how could he possibly resist? Again, he retrieved several talismans and Buddhist treasures from his bag of methods, hoping to use them to counterattack the Golden Qian Er's assault. But without even seeing her move, the person suddenly vanished into thin air. The next moment, Na Duo Wen only felt a darkness in front of his eyes, and a mouthful of blood spurted out, flying several feet away. Once more, he tried to urge on his cultivation method, but how could he possibly succeed? He looked up to see the Golden Qian Er lightly and effortlessly destroying those extraordinary talismans and Buddhist treasures in her hand, as if they were nothing. He was shocked to death.
"Bodhisattva spare his life! Bodhisattva spare his life! ... Wuuu! This kid has eyes but no pupils! Has eyes but no pupils! Wuuu... "
He suddenly felt a looseness all around him and fell to the ground, knocking his head as if pounding garlic. Where was there any semblance of a dignified monk?
"My way will only take your hundred years of cultivation, leaving you at the boundary of condensing your primordial spirit. Now get out quickly!"
Jin Chan'er said coldly. Duo Wen, as if he had encountered a great amnesty, got up and drove the cloud into the valley to escape, but where did he dare to stop for a moment? Jin Chan'er hid her figure and followed him, knowing that Duo Wen would go find Da Yun Zen Master.
As expected, in just a moment, Duowen stopped at the entrance of a building called Yangxin Pavilion and looked around hastily. Seeing that Jin Chan'er was not chasing after him, he flew inside. After passing through the corridors inside the pavilion, he saw a small and delicate temple that seemed to be made of porcelain, no more than ten feet high, but as ordinary as the decorations in the houses of wealthy families in the mortal world, completely unremarkable. The sign above the door read "Heart Buddha Temple".
"This temple is actually built inside the pavilion, no wonder I couldn't find it after searching for a long time!"
The Heart Buddha Hall's grand formation was extraordinary, and the mysterious light it emitted was unusually thick. Even Jin Chang'er wouldn't have been able to break through it with brute force. Duowen carefully took out a small, dark-colored divine plaque from his bosom, muttered some words under his breath, and suddenly the plaque radiated a brilliant light. With a sharp cry, it transformed into a blue bird that flew into the hall and disappeared. Just a moment later, the temple doors swung open, and Duowen entered to see a middle-aged monk with a black beard and a stout build sitting cross-legged on a meditation cushion at the entrance of the hall, his eyes closed in contemplation. It wasn't until half a while later that the monk finally opened his eyes and looked towards Duowen.
"How could you get hurt! With your abilities, who in the valley can hurt you?"
"Master, however, was a young female cultivator! Her name was Jin Chang'er, and she relied on her strength to abandon the hundred-year-old cultivation method of her disciple, beating him until he reached the Condensed Origin realm. Wuuu......"
Many heard Master Fu ask questions and loudly wailed.
"Oh! Such a thing has happened! Come here and let me see!"
The monk waved his hand and heard a loud noise, and his body was shocked and lost color.
"As expected! Who dares to make a move on our Great Cloud Gate!"
Suddenly, the monk turned his head and stared tightly at the strange beast beside the mat. The beast was like a Qilin, with a body of pure gold and a golden light halo that rippled outward. It was truly a sacred beast! Its name was also called the Sacred Golden Beast. At this moment, it was curled up on the ground, its head bowed and not daring to rise, its six senses closed, only trembling its body. The monk's face changed color in shock, hastily releasing his spiritual energy to sense all around, but there was no sign of anyone anywhere. He then recited a mantra and released a protective divine light before finally calming down and asking:
"Who is the superior? Show yourself!"
At this time, a figure slowly emerged from the void. If it wasn't Jin Chang'er, who could it be? She smiled and said:
"Great Cloud Zen Master, you indulged your disciples in evil deeds, I have taken it upon myself to punish them, taking away their hundred years of cultivation and knocking them down a level. Can you accept this?"
"Who are you, a high-ranking person, daring to enter our Great Buddha Temple and cause trouble?"
"I dare not consider myself a superior being, yet I am indeed not one to cause trouble. A poor nun, I have wandered here and hung my cane at the Miao Fa An, quietly cultivating Buddhist teachings; now I come seeking to read some scriptures."
"You've entered my place, what exactly do you want to do?"
"Great Cloud Zen Master, you are a high-ranking monk, with years of cultivation, how can you be so arrogant! I was just reading books and broadening my horizons. Unfortunately, your disciples have been teasing me in every way. I had to take action, also as a warning to them, lest they cause trouble for the temple or the Zen Master himself!"
"What purpose do you have here now?"
"I didn't want to come here originally, but I was afraid that after the poor nun left, you and your disciples would go to the Wonderful Dharma Hermitage to cause trouble. So I came here, which can also be considered as saying hello to the divine monk!"
"Good! In that case, how do you greet people? Please teach me!"
"The nun heard that the great monk Yun's Buddhist teachings were extremely high and profound, second only to those of the abbot in this large temple. The nun thought, 'Firstly, I have also committed a crime against you all, and secondly, I want to try out the skills of this large temple, how about we exchange three moves?"
Dà Yún Chán Shī gazed at Jīn Tiān ér, but couldn't discern the depth of her spiritual power, only feeling that it was ordinary and unremarkable. However, in his heart, he felt as if three rivers had overturned and four seas were boiling over, shocking him to the point of being unable to calm down!
"Behold this delicate young woman, barely out of her teens, yet her kung fu is mysterious and strange. With her several thousand years of cultivation, it's actually difficult to discern her true abilities!"
But in his heart he turned and thought again:
"Even if this woman's kung fu is profound, how high can it reach? My own magical powers have reached the harmony of yin and yang, and being praised as the supreme realm of the cultivation world would not be excessive! What is there to fear?"
But although she thought so, she couldn't bring herself to make a decision. Jin Chan'er saw that the great cloud Zen master was hesitating and opened her mouth to say:
"We two are no match, let's each put up an object, three moves only. If the monk wins even half a move, I'll admit defeat and this Nine Dragon Golden Buddha Zen staff will belong to the monk! What do you say?"
Jin Chan'er spoke as she retrieved an object from her law bag. Great Cloud Zen Master was shocked, staring at the staff with his eyes wide and mouth agape, unable to speak for a long time. This Nine Dragon Golden Buddha Staff was left behind by a high-ranking Buddhist monk who ascended to the upper realm over 10 million years ago. The handle is made of dragon-repressing wood, wrapped by nine golden dragons, with a golden Buddha inlaid at the top - this is the most sacred and mighty instrument of Buddhism!
