The Magician's Journey
Katch seemed to be in a state of shock, wiping his face with a trembling hand. He glanced at Ankala with a frightened look and stretched out his withered arm, on which a string of green-glowing beads exploded one by one. A cluster of green smoke condensed in front of him, taking on a life-like form. With a wave of his staff, the green smoke gradually spread outwards. I watched in horror as wherever the green smoke spread, all forms of life withered away rapidly, including an ancient tree that had stood for nearly a thousand years, which quickly shriveled up and turned into a dead, lifeless trunk.
A green mist rapidly spread outside the magic tower, and Teacher Anka was also surrounded by it. I felt a chill in my heart, thinking that with such highly toxic mist, even someone as powerful as Teacher Anka might not be able to withstand it? The thick mist blocked my line of sight, making it impossible for me to see what was happening outside clearly. However, I still tried my best to look outwards, hoping to catch a glimpse of Teacher Anka's figure.
Just as I was about to give up hope, a huge tornado suddenly appeared, sweeping away the green mist that filled the entire scene. When the tornado dissipated with the green mist, Teacher Anka stood there calmly, holding her magic wand. I was so excited that I almost jumped up - Teacher Anka is amazing!
Katchi's attack had no effect, and with a furious roar, he rapidly swung his magic staff. The ground around him suddenly turned a dark, gloomy black that quickly spread outwards, even reaching the ground beneath Ankhara's feet. Next, skeletal arms emerged from the ground, followed by countless undead spirits, skulls, and zombies crawling out of it. The first batch of monsters let out ear-piercing screeches as they charged towards Ankhara. Witnessing this terrifying scene, every single hair on my back stood upright, cold sweat rapidly soaking through my shirt, sending shivers down my spine.
Ankara teacher held the magic wand, the gem on the magic wand gradually changed from blue to red. Ankara teacher muttered something, just as those monsters were about to attack him, he stood up straight, waved his magic wand, and countless fireballs came crashing down from the sky. Those monsters were hit by the fireballs one after another, turning into random burning objects on the ground, the entire ground was a sea of flames, those skulls and zombies were all engulfed in flames, wailing and twisting, finally turning into charcoal.
It's the high-level flame magic "Meteor Shower" This magic is extremely taxing on magical energy, I've studied it before but can't actually cast it. Back then, Tissen was laughing at me for being overambitious, saying that a beginner like me shouldn't be peeking at the teacher's advanced magic books. But Ankala said that learning and broadening one's horizons is fine, just don't try to cast beyond your level or you might suffer unforeseen consequences, and get hit by magical backlash. Thanks to his encouragement, I've basically browsed through all the books in the Magic Tower's library, so most of the magic Ankala used today I'm somewhat familiar with.
I saw the two of them struggling to maintain their magic, and I immediately sensed an opportunity. If normally I might be useless in front of a powerful undead mage, perhaps at this stalemate moment, I could be the straw that broke the camel's back! I picked up my bow and arrow, opened the door of the magic tower, drew the string to gather the wind element, then aimed at Katchi and released. A shadowy arrow flew towards Katchi, but I feared it might not be enough, so a green wind blade followed closely behind the arrow's shadow - I didn't believe this still wouldn't hit!
Kaji, who was in the midst of casting a spell, was suddenly hit by an attack and an arrow pierced through his shoulder, creating a large hole. The wind blade also cut open a huge wound on his back, and he slowly fell to the ground! I couldn't believe my eyes, I actually knocked him down!
"Alyric, who gave you the right to intervene! I warned you earlier not to interfere in our affairs, how arrogant!" Ms. Ankara shouted at me, instantly dispelling my slightly smug mood, and I, knowing I was wrong, stood quietly on one side, not daring to speak.
Ankara teacher came to Katchi's side, Katchi lay on the ground motionless, he bent down to check Katchi's injury. Suddenly, an accident happened! The motionless Katchi lying on the ground suddenly inserted his withered arm into Ankara teacher, the sharp and withered arm was like a sharp sword deeply inserted into Ankara teacher's abdomen, blood instantly flowed down from the withered arm.
Kaji slowly stood up, maintaining his posture, and looked at the distorted face of Ankala teacher who was twisted in pain. He sneered and said: "Ankala, you were smart for a lifetime but foolish for a moment. You actually believed that a little brat could kill me? I was worried that I couldn't find a way to kill you, but you stupidly delivered yourself to my doorstep! Hahaha, now is the time for me to take revenge!"
With a heart full of regret, I drew the single-handed sword from behind my back and rushed towards Kaji without caring about anything. Now I don't care about anything else, I just want to use my death to atone for my sins. It's all my fault! I'm the one who got Ankara teacher killed!
Katch saw me rushing up and used that soul-rending spell on me again. The intense pain stopped my footsteps as I rushed towards him, and I felt like my whole body was being torn apart. Finally, I couldn't bear the tearing feeling in my soul anymore. "Clang" - my single-handed sword fell to the ground, and I covered my head with my hand, rolling around on the ground in agony.
Just as Katchi was about to attack me, a huge flame enveloped Katchi. Katchi let out a miserable cry and pulled out the hand that had been inserted into Ankhara's body, frantically slapping at the flames on his body. However, the fire only grew bigger and soon engulfed Katchi's entire body. Katchi cried out in agony as he rolled around on the ground, but the flames continued to burn fiercely.
Finally, Katchi's miserable cries gradually subsided until they completely disappeared. His body also stopped squirming, leaving only the flames still burning, and a strange smell of roasted meat wafted through the air.
Ankara teacher clutched his abdomen, sat painfully on the ground, I cried and went forward to try to lift him up, he painfully shook his hand at me, stopped my movement, and motioned for me to squat down.
"Alright, child, don't cry. This isn't your fault, it's mine for being careless." Teacher Ankara weakly comforted me.
"I'm sorry, teacher. It's all my fault. If I hadn't been so arrogant, you wouldn't have been plotted against by him." Tears streamed down my face as I apologized to the teacher with a heart full of regret.
"Alright, alright, don't be sad, child, listen to me." Teacher Anka stopped my apology and took out a crystal from her bosom, handing it to me.
"This is the Magic Tower's Seal Crystal, you will inlay it into the magic array on the wall of the bottom layer, and the Magic Tower will be sealed. After sealing, you have one hour to leave with the crystal, go to the mainland to train your combat skills, hone your magic, then go to the "Floating City" to take the intermediate magician exam, and find Tissen, hand over the crystal to him, tell him I let him come back to inherit this Magic Tower, it's a gift from me. When he becomes an advanced magician, use this crystal to open the Magic Tower, and he will be the master of the Magic Tower."
"Ankara teacher took off a ring from her finger and said: 'I have nothing to leave you, this storage ring will be very useful for your future adventure. The way to open the ring is to use your spiritual power to explore it, do you still remember the 'Spiritual Exploration' I taught you?'"
I nodded tearfully and said, "I remember, teacher."
Now I'm filled with regret and it's no use saying anything, all I can do is listen carefully to Ankara teacher's words.
