Diamond dungeon (2)

Eager to fight the White Rank monsters, Adonis put the mage down and summoned his gladius.

"Creepy." Hiram scrunched her face and left the magic knight's side.

  "I know right?"

"TYEW!" A group of Cancrilli surrounded the teenage magic knight.

  {That sound is annoying.}

'It's worse than the Goblins' screeches.' Adonis agreed.

"Tyew!" Leading the charge, one of the small monsters leapt at the boy's arm.

Narrowing his eyes, Adonis slashed his blade horizontally, separating the white magic crystal from the diamond base.

Dodging an eager monster that lunged at his head, Adonis turned around and punched a monster's white crystal right off.

Hoping to overwhelm the boy, one of the jumped at the magic knight's chest.

Adonis reversed the grip on his gladius and stabbed the opening underneath the monster's base.

  "TYWA?!"

Dislodging the blade from the corpse, Adonis summoned a large complex magic circle beneath his feet and let his mana explode.

"Inferno magic: Hell zone." With the slight raise of his finger, Adonis unleashed a massive explosion of ivory flames, mercilessly destroying the monsters.

{You're doing it again, using mana carelessly.} The deity said irritatedly.

  'I'm checking something...' Adonis dismissed.

Being the first to kill his share of monsters, the boy was granted the privilege of rest.

As he began collecting the monsters' white magic crystals, Adonis's brief break was cut short by an impatient monster...

The monster zooming toward the boy was slightly larger than his chest, its body comprising of a single bulging pink eye, two reptilian legs adorned with diamonds, and two powerful, giant bat-like wings.

Unable to compete with the Pink Rank monster's speed, Adonis was kicked into the chest by the monster, his body flying off the platform like a mere straw doll.

"Wha-" Adonis's eyes widened in surprise as he was unwillingly displaced from the crystal platform.

'This monster isn't from this island.' He frowned.

{Seems it was tired of waiting for your slow pokes.} The Devil God chuckled.

'I'm falling to my death yet you're laughing?' Adonis sighed.

  {The question you should be asking is why are you dying in such a funny way.}

'Whatever.' Despite the abyss below offering a ticket to the reincarnation cycle, Adonis maintained his calm demeanor.

"Adonis?!" Panicking, Hiram snapped her head back and pointed her magic staff at the fleeing boy.

"Ice magic: Frost Bullet." From the tip of her magic staff, Hiram shot out a single large rod of ice that travelled slightly slower than sound toward the boy.

  WHOOSH

"Thanks!" Smiling softly, Adonis grabbed onto the flying frost bullet, using it as a vehicle to the next island.

  {Lucky.}

'You sound disappointed that I didn't die.' The magic knight complained.

Before he slammed into the crystal platform's lower wall, Adonis released the frost bullet and latched onto the smooth wall using Earthly Aura.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

'That Voladaculus is too aggressive.' Adonis leapt onto the dungeon's fourth platform, two islands before the large door.

{What a stupid name.} The Devil God said.

'You're just mad at everything.' Watching the monster attack his party, Adonis shook his head.

The Voladaculus flapped its wings aggressively as it identified its new target, the female magic knight who calmly defeated the .

The one-eyed monster rushed at the young woman, its feet poised to crash into its target's head.

"Huh?" Alerted by the noise of the monster's loud wings, Roxanne crouched quickly.

Roxanne pivoted her body and swung her longsword diagonally to where she thought the monster was.

Shattering the magic knight's expectations, the Voladaculus appeared behind her back and sunk its diamond talons into her cheek.

"Argh!" With blood spewing out her face, the magic knight tumbled off the platform's edge where she clung to the crystal platform's edge.

Eager to push the girl off the edge, the monster rushed forward.

Saving his daughter from harm, Rocco forced his foot toward the monster's body.

Reacting swiftly, the Voladaculus manoeuvred away from the knight's foot and rotated its body sharply.

Satisfied with its position, the monster used the diamond spikes on its wings to slash at Rocco's leg.

Unwavering, Rocco removed his leg from the wing's path and summoned his spear.

Enhancing the spear with Earthly Aura, Rocco thrust the weapon at the monster's massive creepy eye.

Unable to completely avoid the attack, the Voladaculus extended its left leg to receive the brunt of the attack.

After the knight retracted the spear from the monster's mangled foot, Hiram used a large magic circle to summon dozens of ice spikes beneath the monster.

  "Ice magic: Maze of Icicles!"

Relying solely on its sharp instincts, the Voladaculus flew past each spike, gracefully contorting its body to avoid all harm.

Enraged by the life-threatening spell, the Voladaculus eagerly approached the mage.

"Stupid Eye!" With blood streaming down the side of her face, Roxanne propelled her fist toward the monster's eye.

Deeming the attack too slow, the monster brazenly dodged the attack and clawed at the girl's throat using its diamond talons.

"Inferno magic: Hell's artillery." Using a complex pale magic circle, Adonis destroyed the tip of the monster's wing, disrupting its attack.

Saving his daughter once more, Rocco swung his spear at the monster's huge eye.

Ignoring the fountain of blood emerging from the creature's damaged eye, Rocco rotated his spear and descended its blade into the monster's eye-body.

Abandoning his spear inside the monster's body, Rocco rushed to the aid of his daughter and summoned a magic potion from his spatial ring.

"Are you okay, Roxy?" The man frowned.

"Yeah, I'm okay Dad." Roxanne said softly.

"Sweet." Watching the father-daughter duo,Hiram smiled awkwardly.

"I know right." Smiling, Adonis landed on the crystal platform beside Hiram.

"Family bonds are something special." Hiram's purple eyes dimmed sadly.

"Yeah." Suppressing his complicated emotions toward family, Adonis dislodged Rocco's spear from the Voladaculus and extracted the magic crystal.

"That's why we have each other." Having successfully stored the pink magic crystal in his ranger's ring, Adonis smiled radiantly.

  "Hehe." She smiled.

"Catch up you two!" Teasing Rocco and Roxanne, Adonis swept the mage off her feet and hopped to the next empty island.

Since the fourth island was now empty, Adonis leapt to the final platform before the door.

The monster inhabiting the final crystal island was excited, to say the least.

Just like every other monster within the dungeon, the featured a clear diamond body housing a glowing magic crystal at its core. Being larger than the Voladuculus and the Adamastrum in size, the creature's stature was comparable to that of an average human.

Besides its size, nothing about the crystal creature resembled humanity; its tapered crystal form concluded with a sharp point at the bottom with four strange diamond limbs that helped with its balance and added to its terrifying image.

The spun in a small circle, creating shallow scratches in the platform's surface.

"I used have one just like that." Watching the spinning top monster rotate in place, Adonis giggle softly.

The Teetotum rotated rapidly and changed its trajectory, violently charging at the two combatants.

Staying calm, Hiram slammed her magic staff onto the ground, creating a small ice ramp.

Unable to completely evade the spell, the monster unwillingly launched into the air.

Wasting no time, Adonis coated his right foot in Earthly Aura and joined the creature in the air.

Adonis delivered a devastating axe kick to the top of the monster's defenseless head, sending it back to the island with significant force.

As a result of the Teetotum's rapid gyration and the impact of Adonis's terrifying kick, the monster was sent crashing into the diamond platform, causing a quarter of its body to become firmly lodged into the diamond surface.

"That was easier than I thought it'd be." Adonis gracefully landed in front of the monster with a soft thud.

"How're we going to kill it?" Hiram frowned.

"You're already done?" Arriving on the island with his daughter, Rocco smiled cheerfully at the rest of his party members.

  "..."

"We've technically defeated it, but getting through it's crystal exterior will be tough." Adonis admitted.
