After a bit of wondering, Adonis found himself in a dark vacant forest.
{What're you looking for mortal?}
"Nothing really, just a place with a bit of privacy. There's too many eyes back at the hotel."
'This seems fine.' Adonis opened his hand and summoned a large diamond shard.
{You're going to test practice again? }
"No not that again, it's too frustrating." Adonis shook his head.
'I know of my current physical limitations, but my Inferno Magic is still somewhat of a mystery.'
Adonis summoned a small magnifying glass using the same spatial ring and held it in his left hand.
'When successful, my flames destroy but when they aren't it's unclear what happens; it neither burns nor scorches so what exactly happens?'
Adonis brought the magnifying glass to his left eye and channelled his mana into the magic item.
"Okay..." Taking a mental photo of all the particles in the diamond shard Adonis proceeded to toss it in the air in front of him.
While watching the flying diamond shard, Adonis ignited the ivory flames in his right hand and hurled it into a magic circle near it.
"Inferno magic: Hell Cannon, matter variation."
As he'd predicted, the flames merely enveloped the object rather than destroying the diamond shard and disappeared less than a second later.
Adorning a thoughtful expression, Adonis plucked the diamond shard from the air.
Utilizing the same magnifying glass, Adonis he studied it’s molecular structure once more.
'So it did destroy.' Squinting his eyes, Adonis took another mental image of the shard and compared it to the previous one.
{What're you looking for?} Slightly confused by the mortal's actions, the Devil God asked.
"The difference between the diamond before being hit by my Inferno Magic and after." He explained.
{There is none.}
"It's different, look closely. The first three layers of atoms are no longer there and a few of the subatomic particles in the fourth layer are missing."
{Seems useless.}
"In battle yes... But overall not at all, this proves lots of the theories I already had. Mainly the fact that Inferno magic destroys on a subatomic level rather than cellular."
{...That is impressive.} The Devil God admitted.
"Is that a compliment?" Adonis's silver eyes glistened slightly as he turned his attention away from the diamond crystal.
{I meant the magic affinity, not you.}
'Mean.'
"This also means that there isn't anything I can't destroy, as long as I have enough mana of course. My magic output would obviously also make this task quicker." The teenage continued.
{Good, now time for martial arts training.} Eos said sternly.
'Hehehe...No.' Adonis shook his head stubbornly and brought the diamond shard back into his spatial ring.
"Minnie." He whispered.
As if waiting for his master's call, the batlike beast zoomed through the air and found his place atop Adonis's head.
'That was quick... was he bored?'
"Why're you heavier?" The boy raised his eyes to study the beast atop his head.

"KSK KSK!" The beast screamed.
"I didn't call you fat!"
"Ksk ksk."
"No, you don't need to go on a diet, you're perfect." The boy shook his head.
"Ksk ksk!"
"I'm not lying."
"Ksk ksk." Minnie pouted.
"I'm sorry, you're not that much heavier." Adonis hung his head in shame.
"Ksk ksk."
"Thank you." The teenage boy slightly raised his head and smirked.
"Ksk ksk ksk."
"We're going patrolling." Adonis said.
"Ksk ksk."
"This city has lots of crime, so I thought we'd use this as an opportunity to clean the streets and train against humans. Plus, we haven't spent time together in a while."
"Ksk ksk ksk ksk!"
"You're always hungry." Adonis shook his head and extended his hand, preparing to summon another item from his spatial ring.
"KSK KSK!" Minnie beat his wings fiercely, digging his talons into the magic knight's skull.
"That wasn't a fat joke, I'm sorry!" Screaming in pain, Adonis summoned a clear magic crystal from his spatial ring and offered it to Minnie.
"Ksk ksk!" Accepting the bribe happily, the bat-like beast swallowed the magic crystal whole.
"That reminds me. Minnie, let's test something." Wiping the scarlet liquid running down the side of his head, Adonis raised his eyebrows.
"Ksk ksk?" Minnie disembarked from Adonis's dishevelled Russian violet hair, flapping his wings gracefully to stay afloat before him.
"The magic crystal I just fed you was from a Crystallum, so use air blast." He commanded.
"Ksk ksk?" Donning a confused expression on his tiny monstrous face, Minnie merely continued to beat his wings gently.
{It seems like he doesn't know what you're talking about.} The Devil God observed.
'As I thought, he can't use the monster or magic beast's ability right after consuming the magic crystal. Either his body takes time to evolve or he needs to eat a certain quantity of the crystals.'
"Here's another." Adonis tossed the beast a second identical magic crystal.
"Ksk ksk!" The gluttonous creature happily accepted the magic crystal, devouring it without chewing.
"Now, use air blast." Adonis repeated.
Still confused, the Minnie merely stared at Adonis once more.
'I don't know if he actually can't use the ability or if he's simply taking advantage of me.' Adonis summoned a third unranked magic crystal and threw it at the magic beast.
After eating the magic crystal, Minnie's body briefly turned translucent making his skeletal structure visible before he turned back to his regular onyx image.
'He should have the ability now.' Acknowledging the beast's brief transformation, Adonis smirked.
"Use air blast." Adonis said.
"Ksk Ksk!" Minnie nodded his head eagerly and rose higher than before and directed his body toward the magic knight.
The beast thrashed its wings fiercely, generating a strong force of wind way stronger than it should've been capable of producing.
Positioned right in front of the creature, Adonis was hit with the full brunt of the ability, forcing him backwards a few feet.
'It's stronger than the Crancullu’s air blast.' He smirked.
"That's enough crystals for today, I still need a few for myself and selling."
{You can't absorb magic crystals mortal.} Eos said flatly.
"Wait what?!"
{Your soul and spirit cannot receive external energy from sources of that quality.}
"Oh okay..." He frowned.
"Ksk ksk?" The creature asked concernedly.
"It's nothing, let's go." Adonis forced a smile and offered the creature his arm.
Still slightly concerned, Minnie grabbed onto the magic knight's arm with his feet and flapped his wings aggressively.
Minnie soared through the air, carrying Adonis within his grasp.
"That way." Flying more than nine kilometres above the city's streets, Adonis pointed to one of the city's slums.
"Ksk ksk."
Following instructions, Minnie lowered his altitude and approached the filthy area.
"It won't take that long to find trouble." Using Earthly Aura to enhance his ears and eyes, Adonis studied the slum's poverty-stricken streets.
The major slums of Periculum were notably more ominous than those found elsewhere in the Caelum Empire.
Its streets were scattered with bodies, both deceased and barely clinging to life, while the air hung heavy with the vile stench of death.
The buildings stood as gloomy monuments to abandonment and wear, adding to the overall area's eerie atmosphere.
As the two hovered above the streets, Adonis focused more Earthly Aura into his eyes and ears.
"Please no! This is all I have!"
Adonis and Minnie's ears twitched as they identified the sound of a screaming middle-aged lady.
"Let's go." He whispered.
"Ksk."
