Set in David Weber’s Dahak universe, the story follows Emperor Sean MacIntyre and Princess Harriet MacIntyre as they discover an isolated human offshoot called Voratha, a centuries-old civilization that has genetically engineered out aggression and conflict. While Voratha enjoys 500-year lifespans and near-utopian tranquility, they remain ignorant of external threats. When a band of pirates attacks Voratha’s orbital stations, the Imperium intervenes and decisively protects the pacifist planet.
