  Chapter 43: On Her Own.

Ria: “What about this one, Lady Celia?” She suggested, holding a piece of paper. “This is a very easy quest, one which is unlikely to cause Celia any problems.” She secretly thought.

Celia: “Hm? Ria… surely, I can do more difficult quests than… ones that require me to find a stray cat, yes?” She replied with a sigh. “For her to be so protective… I knew it! I must have made a fool of myself, getting head in the head with a silly rock, and losing my memories…” She expressed in her mind with an upset tone.

Currently, Celia and Ria were in the Adventurers’ Guild once more. This time, Carma didn’t come along for the ride, and Midas kept to her office as well. Since she was almost Level 200, there were very few beings which could threaten, let alone injure, Celia.

At most, Midas and Carma knew that they needed to prevent their beloved family member from going anywhere near places that house rare monsters. Such beings could easily be high Level, so Midas made sure to reject any quests which could potentially take Celia to those kinds of places from showing up on the board.

Ria: “I am… I’m just worried that you’ll get involved in some crazy conspiracy once more.” She admitted, sheepishly.

Celia: “And whose to say that, by some miracle, I also won’t get into a conspiracy from rescuing a cat?” She replied with her arms crossed.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

  Ria: “…”

Celia: “Ria, living life in fear… isn’t a life at all. It is merely surviving, which, as we aren’t baseless animals, not something that I’ll ever do.” She coaxed with a smile.

With her maid consoled, Celia took a look at the quest board again, trying to find something that grabs her interest. After ten minutes, she found something… curious.

Ria: “A Ghost investigation? Absolutely not!” She instantly denied after seeing her charge about to reach out for quest paper.

Celia: “Why not? It is just a Ghost…” She replied with an innocent head tilt.

Ria: “Quest revolving around spectral beings… aren’t ones to be taken lightly, or at all.” She answered with a stern tone.

Grabbing the quest note, Ria angrily went over to one of the free reception desks. The woman noticed Ria’s… displeasure, but kept a calm demeanor.

Receptionist: “How may I help you, ma’am?” She asked with a forced smile.

  Slam!

Ria: “Why is a quest to investigate a Ghost… being posted in this fine establishment?” She after gently placing the quest paper down on the counter.

Receptionist: “That’s…” She was about to explain, but got cut off by the craziness of the truth.

Celia saw Midas enter the main area of this branch, but Ria was still seeing too much blood to realize this. As such, Midas silently walked behind the maid, and then she looked down at the paper.

Midas: “Regardless of how many times we remove this quest, it appears back on the board.” She informed, monotonely.

Ria: “Then burn it!” She exclaimed, turning around to face a woman she already kinda disliked.

Zia: “Ria! Calm down, this woman could absolutely just flick you into an early grave…” She warned seriously.

  Ria: “…”
