Chapter 22: Asking More.
Placing memories into Viewing Crystals was a taxing ordeal, not to mention the other things that Carma must attend to. As such, Celia spent an entire week alone, being pampered by maids, rotting in her room.
Celia: “Ruina, you mentioned that Herm had… trained wrong. What did you mean?” She asked with a curious tone in her mind.
Ruina: “You’re only asking about that now?!” She exclaimed in shock.
Celia: “…”
Ruina: “Oh, Stats get boosted based on their use. So, let’s say that, for example, you don’t use Magic often. From this, upon Leveling up, you’d rarely increase your MP or INT Stat.” She explained, pretending her outburst didn’t occur.
This was evident in how Celia’s Stats ended up after gaining all those Levels. Yes, her DEX was almost higher than Herm’s, but that is because her base Stats for a Human were quite high. Here’s an example:
:Status:
Name: Base Human.
Sex: Female.
Race: Human.
Age: 21.
HP: 5/5.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
MP: 5/5.
AGI: 10.
STR: 6.
DEX: 7.
INT: 50.
Hunger: 100/100.
True Level: 1.
Race Level: 1/1,000.
Current EXP: 0/100.
As you can see, at Level 1, Celia was actually stronger than a typical adult, which aided in her slum survival. Even the required Exp per Level was lower, a trait from her previous life, which she kept.
Keep in mind, her base Stats were that high, while not being an adult. At least for Humans, they don’t get the full base Stats until they reach age 21. So, Celia, with just aging… will get stronger by doing nothing at all. Though, not by much.
Celia: “It seems… that properly Leveling is quite difficult.” She mused, while taking a sip of her tea.
Ruina: “Not really, though, that is why I am here. Celia, you just have to not let people fight your battles for you, and your Stats will be fine.” She clarified, nonchalantly, like her job really wasn’t important at all.
Celia: “Hmm… that shouldn’t be so hard. If only I was allowed to leave this place.” She replied with a groan.
With Carma busy, and Celia having no standing, it was impossible for her to leave the castle. The maids, while nice, always kept her in the wonderfully spacious room. And the strong knights guarding the door, two on both the inside and out, left Celia no hope for escape.
Ruina: “You aren’t a captive, silly girl. The Felta Empire could still wish to kill you, a loose end, and the murderer of their prince.” She calmly scolded in reply. “That is, assuming they got his memories quicker than we expected… But, better safe than sorry!” She secretly thought with a giggle.
Celia: “I know, I know. It’s just… I can’t Level up while trapped in this room!” She pouted, finally showing her age for once.
Maids: “…” “Lady Celia is so damn cute when pouting…” They all thought practically the same words, fluttery hearts in their minds.
Being just 14 years of age, Celia didn’t develop the ability to hide her emotions from showing on her face. As such, even while pouting in her head to Ruina, the maids knew she was upset about being trapped in her room for an entire week. Which only added to her cuteness, not lashing out at her captors even slightly…
