Chapter 32: Ignoring It.
Midas was 50/50 on if Zia somehow ratted her out, or if Ria was just being protective of Celia. Either way, the Goddess didn’t really care much about the truth of this matter at all.
Midas: “I heard about the assassination attempts…” She said with an angry tone.
Celia: “Yes, it would seem that… killing an Empire’s Prince is… bad for your safety.” She replied with a groan.
Ria: “Rest assured, Lady Celia. I won’t allow anything close to what you experience to happen again.” She swore, seriously.
Midas: “Maid, you aren’t even Level 100…” She added with a smug tone and expression.
Ria: “…”
Celia: “?”
The two stared each other down, sparks flying as they silently did so. Celia, on the other hand, was confused about where or when such hostility between Midas and Ria even started…
Midas: “Celia, I’ve threatened that foolish “Empire,” so they won’t mess with you for a while.” She informed, still smug.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Celia: “Oh, that so? That’s great, Midas!” She happily replied, a beaming smile on her petite face.
Ria: “…” “Dammit! I don’t have the power to give Lady Celia more benefits than Midas can…” She thought, clicking her tongue in annoyance.
Zia heard these words from Ria, but didn’t scold her other self for it. Oddly, even Zia, who hasn’t even properly met Celia, felt the same. Celia had a powerful pull, like their charge was already deeply important to the both of them.
Midas: “Will you be taking on a quest, Celia?” She asked with a curious tone, not mentioning the fuming maid behind Celia.
Celia: “Well… if there are any easy ones to deal with, yes.” She replied with an unsure tone.
Midas: “There are quite a few quests like that available. Select from these ten, if you’d please. Oh, I made sure that none of them have any hidden sides to request, unlike that fake escort I accidentally sent you on…” She said with a remorseful tone, spreading out quests for Celia to choose from.
Unwilling to send Celia too far away this time, each quest either took place within the city, or just outside of it. For instance, out of all the papers here, Celia picked out a kill quest for a Goblin Champion.
Celia: “I’ll go with this one. I’d like to focus on gaining more Levels, after all.” She said, handing back one of the papers to Midas.
Ria And Midas: “…”
9/10 of the quests were simple, like dispelling harmless ghosts, or cleaning up a ruin down estate. Neither being above Rank A in difficulty.
Rather than let Celia get into danger, Midas specifically placed only one S Rank quest on the tablet. This was, in mistaken hope, an attempt to scare Celia into being careful.
Ria: “My Lady… this… t-this quest is…” She stuttered out.
Celia: “What? Both of us are almost Level 100, so a Goblin Champion shouldn’t be too dangerous to fight, right?” She innocently replied, tilting her head.
The Others: “( ’-’ ~)”
