Chapter 59. Heavy cube.

Both attacks clash, cancelling each other out as they keep sending more attacks, both sides not willing to use their full strength in case of a drawn-out battle.

“I hate this so much,” Xania muttered, sending attacks at the hero along with Anise who is sending attacks and defending any weak attacks incoming from the sides.

“My lord, can't you at least protect your side? Concentrating on defence completely is tiring and honestly stressful,” Anise said. Xania thought for a moment before staring at her, eye to eye.

“No,” Xania said, turning back to the hero.

“...” Anise watched as another attack came, materializing a shield to weaken it before letting it hit Xania.

“Oops, sorry,” Anise said, turning back to the hero and attacking.

“Petty,” Xania said, deciding how to mess around and focus on the hero first.

“This is going to take a while isn't it?” Xania muttered.

“Probably, doesn't seem like her capacity is particularly small,” Anise said, expecting it to take a while, but the attacks suddenly stopped, to both of their surprise.

“Seriously? Well, guess we were wrong,” Xania said, preparing to finish her off before Anise stopped her.

“Wait my lord,” Anise said, hearing the hero softly muttering some words as she used mana to enhance her hearing, Xania following her.

“Dear divinity of war, bless me,” The hero muttered, her divinity suddenly getting a short burst of energy as Xania instinctively blocked it with divinity and mana, using too much divinity at once.

“Divinity of war?” Xania asked, turning to Anise.

“What? You didn't expect everybody and every nation to believe in the god of creation, did you? Every nation has a god, it's just that Lucival is extremely dependent on theirs compared to the others,” Anise said, sending multiple attacks imbued with extreme amounts of mana.

“Irritating,” Xania said, preparing 5 spears of extremely concentrated mana, followed by adding divinity to them as the hero muttered another sentence, her sword gaining another burst of divinity.

“Die,” Xania muttered, sending her spears. The hero did the same, both attacks clashing as Xania quickly prepared another 5 spears, the woman muttering another phrase, a massive sword appearing overhead this time, aimed at Xania.

Both sides kept attacking, Xania sending the same attacks nonstop as the hero kept trying new attacks. Anise watched from behind Xania, unable to help as the hero blocked all her attacks with a shield conjured from a one-word phrase, ‘faith.’

As Xania kept attacking, she watched as the hero kept up with her with phrases that were seemingly worthless by themselves but, at the same time, somehow empowered her.

“How.. amazing,” Xania said out loud instinctively, Anise teleporting beside her.

“My lord, you aren't going to have a religious conversion are you?” Anise asked, somewhat joking but also curious.

“Of course not. I'll never worship a being I’ve never seen,” Xania said as she sent another couple of dark spears at the hero.

“My lord, are you going to run out of divinity any time soon?” Anise asked, Xania shook her head in response.

“No, due to your temporary death, I've managed to gain a ridiculous capacity for divinity, the main problem is that it took me around a whole month to fill it up even with the magic circles which basically killed a tenth of a forest worth of plants,” Xania said as Anise stares at her.

“You’re going to be the reason people's views of demons get worse, somehow,” Anise muttered, teleporting away as the two kept attacking.

“That's it, I can't, nor am I willing to keep this up forever,” Xania said, preparing 20 dark spears, each thrice their original size.

“Drop dead. This is worth 10 percent of a month of deforestation,” Xania sent the attacks, clashing against the hero's attacks, easily destroying it with one spear being used as the hero attempted to mutter more phrases, getting rid of another spear before getting hit, incurring massive damage.

“Die, just die already,” Xania said, preparing a massive singular black spear as she sent it. The hero quickly muttered another phase, barely teleporting away in time before the spear reached her.

“Damn it!” Xania shouted angrily, stomping her foot as the ground cracked beneath her before teleporting back to Anise.

“Anise, I believe I'll need you to help me research some more weapons. If multiple of these heroes appear it may be a problem. I'll find some people to do your jobs while you're busy,” Xania said, deciding to take this matter seriously instead of fooling around.

“Very well my lord, I'll try my best… though, I may need some divinity?” Anise said, trying to get some divinity for researching anything of use as Xania materialized a giant transparent square container, placing half her remaining divinity in.

“Be careful, if this explodes I’m not sure I can stop it in time,” Xania said, adding an extra reinforced layer of transparent material to the container before teleporting away to find people to do Anise’s job, planning to personally scout around the walls in regular time intervals to prevent any enemies from getting too close.

“Wow, seeing my lord seriously is such a rare experience,” Anise said, placing her hand on the container as she teleported to her laboratory, intending to make the most of the divinity provided.

Anise teleported the container to a temporary storage room hidden in her laboratory as she walked out, materializing a wall to hide the presence of the storage room before walking around, taking some stairs down, down and further down before reaching a massive dining room with a long table in the center.

“Here it is,” Anise muttered, activating a couple of hidden magic circles in a specific order as the wall opposite the stairs opened up, inviting Anise to walk through into a room with a floating core in the center, similar to the one belonging to the underworld, the door closing behind her.

“Ahh, my lord will be satisfied with something of this extent, but only if I can recreate this beauty,” Anise said. “The vision me and my lord saw that day, that core is the very one in the underworld, it has the power to interfere with time, truly a miracle,” Anise said, placing her hand on the core as she infused some of her own divinity into it, the divinity gathering into the center of the core as Anise materialized a small white cube, dropping it as she activated the core, watching as the cube stopped mid-air along with everything else except Anise.

“Only problem is the divinity usage,” Abuse muttered, thinking to herself as the divinity gets used up, the cube dropping onto Anise's foot.

“Ouch! Why did I make it so heavy?” Anise complained, picking the cube up.
