Chapter 60. Ugly dome.

Xania, currently surveying the area outside of the wall and setting up barriers that'll inform her when they're broken all around the walls.

“Damn it… I've been at this for 3 days! I hate that hero so much!” Xania mentally cursed as she finally managed to finish a layer of shields all over, creating a very ugly dome of hundreds of shields, each reflecting light at a certain angle, chasing some rainbows to form.

“God, that looks so hideous yet so amazing,” Xania said looking up before somebody suddenly hit her head from behind.

“Ouch?” Xania said, turning around to find Anise holding a bat, a bag which she quickly hid behind her back.

“... Why? I didn't do anything bad did I?” Xania said, rubbing the back of her head jokingly.

“My lord, I've created… something. The problem is that I can't install it…” Anise said, thinking how her laboratory is made with mana-proof walls and how volatile the core is due to the divinity.

“So, how am I to help?” Xania asked, wanting to use the weapon to get rid of the pests who were making her life difficult.

“You got strength and a back, carry it on your back to the castle and place it at the top,” Anise said, crossing her arms.

Xania immediately complied, willing to do anything else except for sightseeing and building a hideous wall.

“Let's go!” Xania said, holding Anise's hand, surprising her.

“Hands off,” Anise said, unused to Xania being so enthusiastic as she teleported them to the front of her laboratory.

“You don't like holding hands that much?” Xania asked, confused since Anise has been known to do things a lot more ‘mature’ than she has.

“My lord… it was just surprising,” Anise said, grabbing Xania's hand again to try.

“I'm going to get used to this eventually,” Anise said, continuing to hold Xania's hand as she led her to the core.

“Wow,” Xania said, staring at the core as Anise continued to hold Xania's hand, finding it oddly cold and warm at the same time.

“So, this was what you needed me to carr…” Xania's voice trailed off as she suddenly felt her hand being bitten down on and turned to Anise who was biting her hand.

“What are you doing?” Xania asked, trying to gently remove her hand but Anise didn't let go.

The author's content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

“Trying to get used to feeling you. I don't think we could get any more connected without unzipping. Yeah, none of us have zips, but it's a metaphor,” Anise said, not bothering to rephrase herself.

“Even if we ‘unzipped’ how would we get more connected?” Xania asked, confused.

“Oh right, you have no sex-ed classes, don't worry, I'll teach you later. Want a practical or theory lesson?” Anise asked, smirking slightly at her own joke.

“Which do you prefer?” Xania asked. Anise's smirk widened slightly.

“With you? Practical, never been with a woman before, but I'm confident you'll prefer theory,” Anise said, placing her finger on Xania's mouth as she tried to ask further.

“Core comes first, questions later,” Anise said, pointing to the core.

“Fine… And I'm not stupid, I do believe I have a slight bit of knowledge on the subject since I actually gained some of your memories when I gave you my knowledge on magic circles last time,” Xania said, causing Anise's smirk to disappear immediately.

“What?” Anise asked as Xania reported away with the core, using her better control and much bigger capacity of mana to prevent the core from exploding or spoiling and to teleport through the walls.

“Thank god the walls weren't too thick or strong… Anise is adventurous. Yelp, that's the word, ‘adventurous,” Xania muttered to herself as Anise teleported behind her.

“My lord, I'd appreciate it if you didn't speak about anything you saw?” Anise said while forcing a smile, her tone slightly dark.

“I know. I didn't expect to receive your memories either okay? It was only some and I just remembered them. I also barely received any, I promise,” Xania said, trying to find somewhere safe to place the core.

“Top of the castle, the highest point. We also have to prepare some divinity on it beforehand, or it'll be too inconvenient for a real battle,” Anise said, watching Xania try infusing divinity in it, using up all her divinity but not even filling the core up with a single percent.

“Right, that'll take a while,” Xania said, somewhat disappointed at not being able to try the core out.

“It's still experimental. If not for the situation I wouldn't have even said anything about it,” Anise said, placing a small shield around it, Xania copying her action and placing an even bigger one.

“Couldn't we just make a magic circle to pull divinity into it?” Xania asked enthusiastically, wanting to quickly use it.

“Yeah, force feed and experimental weapon with a huge amount of divinity. I wonder how that'll work out,” Anise said, poking Xania's cheeks out of annoyance.

“What does it actually do?” Xania asked as Anise turned the core on by placing her hand on it. The world around them froze up instantly.

“cool,” Xania said as Anise proudly puffed her chest out like a child.

Look,” Anise said, materializing a cube twice as big as the one she did while testing the core out before.

“What?” Xania asked as Anise let go of the cube, the cube floating mid-air as Xania looked at it in amazement.

“My lord, I'm going to turn it off. Watch the core, it does something cool,” Anise said, aiming the cube to drop onto Xania's small toe.

“Sure,” Xania said, staring intently at the core.

“There,” Anise turned the core off as the cube dropped.

Xania locked the cube, causing it to hit Anise's knee, “Ow!” Anise shouted, grabbing her knee as she sat down.

“I'm not dumb,” Xania said, healing Anise's knee.

“It wouldn't have hurt you even if it did land,” Anise complains to herself as she sets up a magic circle to pull divinity in.

“I thought you said it was dangerous?” Anise asked, confused at why she set the magic circle e up.

“Insurance. If all goes to hell then you may use it. Now shoo, I gotta work on it and continue experimenting to try to make it more usable,” Anise said, mimicking the action of swatting a fly away.

“Fine, I'll go back to my surveying of the walls,” Xania said, teleporting away.
