Chapter 49: The Battle of the iron wall (v)

Bihse watched Adeline make her way to the wall as she waited, next to her was Tymon, who was also on foot. Bihse gnced at him with a smile as she patted the big wolf.

  “You want to pet her?”

Tymon stared at the wolf as he shook his head. “Not really, I am not good with animals.”

“Hmm, so you never rode a horse?”

“I prefer to run; it’s faster and doubles as exercise.”

“A knight who has never ridden a horse, that is very new to me. What is the reason behind it?”

Tymon stared at Bihse, who had a wide smile. For a troll, she was comparable to a princess, but she also exuded a very fearsome aura. He thought of her as the same wolf she rode on, very friendly on the surface but deadly on the inside.

“I will tell you when we return.”

  “Is that a promise?”

  “Yes, that’s a promise.”

Bihse stared at Tymon, then towards the wall. It was then Jack and a group of knights made their way down the wall, chasing Adeline. Her smile instantly disappeared as she raised her hand, then dismounted. She made a clicking sound as the wolf ran into the woods. Shamans with rge staffs moved forward as fifty elite trolls fell into formation. Two shamans were in front of Bihse and Tymon, with two at the end of the group. They started a chant as an invisible curtain fell over them.

“Remember your tasks. If we fail, we won’t have a home to return to.”

  “Yes, chieftain!”

The group slowly moved toward the wall as they tried not to alert the remaining knights on the wall. The process was slow, but Bihse was not in a rush. Soon, they arrived at a desote part of the wall. One of the trolls stepped forward and started to clear the rubble, with the rest remaining vigint. The process went smoothly as the underground path was cleared. They slowly entered until only Bihse and Tymon remained.

“Shamans, return to the castle. In the case we do not return, retreat deeper into the frost nd and send an envoy to the elves. The eldest among you will be the chieftain.”

The shamans nodded as Tymon and Bihse entered the passage. It was very dark, but with their increased senses, it was easy to make out the path. They continued to crawl for some time until the path curved upwards to an exit. The trolls carefully exited under the cover of darkness as they covered their faces and carefully walked along the wall. Luckily, there were not as many guards around, so it was easier for them. Tymon tried to lead them to the best of his ability.

Bihse suddenly stopped and stared directly up the wall with a serious face. Tymon was next, but with a frown. The trolls all stopped as they steadied themselves for an incoming fight.

“I am sensing around three powerful people. Was there another sword master?”

“More might have appeared, but this will be a problem. I am also sensing a group of elite knights.”

The sound of talking, then someone jumping off, could be heard as the group disappeared. Tymon nudged Bihse, who already knew where they were heading.

“You will have to trust Adeline, my brother, and Joseph. We cannot stop the mission now.”

“You are right, let’s finish things here, then head back to her.”

Bihse nodded, but she suddenly turned towards the wall once again. Two men and a group of soldiers were standing looking down on them. Bihse removed her cover and stood tall, revealing her pair of axes on her back. Her ashy and well-built body glowed under the moon. The rest of the trolls followed suit, with Tymon being st. His eyes were pnted on Risin. Lorenzo let out a small scoff at the sight.

“You brainless monsters, to think you devised such a stupid pn. Did you really think you would be successful? You even brought the traitor with you.”

Bihse turned to Tymon, who transted the conversation. Her gaze turned to the man on top of the wall. She unsheathed her weapons, then violently pnted them on the wall with a loud thud. Lorenzo found this amusing as he let out a small ugh, but Risin was watching Tymon, his gaze full of questions. Bihse unleashed her mana as part of the wall came trembling down, taking a few soldiers with it. She made it look effortless. She started a chant as the trolls joined in. Lorenzo’s face contorted in anger as he elegantly floated down with the rest, making their way down the rubble.

“Oliver, I had high hopes for you, even thought of suggesting you to be a noble. Then you went and killed your wife and child. You could have quietly atoned for your crimes, but you chose to side with these hideous things. Tell me, what did they promise you?”

“I will not expin myself to you, Lorenzo. You are all part of the same rotten tree. You were there, and you did not even try to defend me, after all I have done for the empire!”

“Hmmph, why would I defend a murderer? You are no different than the monsters you ran around with.”

Bihse suddenly shot forward, taking Lorenzo with her as she crashed through multiple buildings and houses, leaving behind Tymon and Risin. The knights braced themselves as the trolls simply stared at them. More knights and soldiers came pouring in.

“Go and help the Duke; make sure no harm comes to him.”

The knights bowed and ran off, but some of the trolls gave chase as the battle ensued. The sound of weapons colliding, screaming, and the sound of flesh being torn filled the night as Tymon and Risin remained in pce. Tymon slowly approached him, his battleaxe still mounted on his back, as Risin unsheathed his sword and approached. Knights came running towards Tymon, but he swiftly dealt with them, though no trolls attacked Risin. Now face to face, the two faced each other.

“You must have a lot of questions.”
