Chapter 7: Getting To Work.
Pretending that she didn’t just lewdly gaze at Celia, Midas graciously showed the young woman out of the Guild building. With directions to the meetup place for her job, as well.
A Walk Later.
Eventually, Celia found herself at one of the entrances of this city, the front, large gate. By the road was a carriage rental place, and where the mission giver was waiting at.
Celia: “Hello, I’m Celia, the one who took your quest.” She informed with a bow, also showing off her F rank Guild badge.
Tin: “Oh? Young… but that doesn’t matter. I see that you have two weapons, and that is enough to deter any bandits.” He replied with a warm tone.
The one who put up the quest wasn’t Tin, as he was just an old driver. But getting adventurers to escort their cargo was common for Rever Trading to do, and Tin had carried out thousands upon thousands of these deliveries in the past.
Rever Trading had many connections and decent power. As such, rarely didn’t anyone bother to raid their transports. The few that did were animals, or worthless, skill-less bandits, who weren’t in the know.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
Tin: “Oh, there is someone hitching a ride later, but keep this a secret, and don’t mess with them, please.” He informed with a whisper into Celia’s ear.
Celia: “Hm? Okay.” She quickly agreed, not seeing anything wrong with this ask from Tin.
Tin: “Good, then, let’s head out now. The earlier, the better, in my opinion.” He added with a laugh.
The man then got onto the driver seat of his carriage, and Celia hopped into the back. With her dagger and half-length sword both sheathed to her sides, the left and right side respectfully, Celia sat down, and patiently awaited for when Tin needed her help.
Hours Later.
Unsurprisingly, Midas was correct about how tame this little quest was. Since she had so a long day, and that bath was so relaxing… Celia mostly had to fight off sleep, rather than any monsters or bandits.
But Celia was a wise girl, even while young, and missing all her previous memories. The request for escort was abrupt, and inside the carriage… was just a single box.
This carriage was pretty big, easily able to hold up to fifty boxes of similar-sized cargo, and probably ten to twenty people.
Celia: “Mr. Tin, why is there only one box?” She asked with a curious tone, leaning on the small window, which showed out to the drivers’ seat.
Tin: “Nothing that you need to worry about. Though, it isn’t really something that I need to keep a secret from you…” He mused.
Celia: “Hm?” She replied, hoping for the man to continue.
Tin: “Two VIPs needed a ride, discreetly. That crate of apples is just a formality, really. My company does this from time to time, so everything works out perfectly.” He explained with a hearty laugh.
Celia: “Oh, I see.” She nodded in reply, still curious, and about to ask another question…
