Volume 8. Chapter 36: Attempting The Plan. (Chapter 737.)

  Chapter 36: Attempting The Plan.

Lem, Carma, and Ria all looked at each before they set off to carry out Midas’s plan. To them, there was an odd confusion.

Carma: “…” “Why can’t anything ever be simple with Celia?” She thought with a defeated tone.

Ria: “…” “Considering her luck, I should stick closer to Celia through this.” She expressed in her thoughts, readying herself for danger.

The normal people of this group honestly thought that Celia had bad luck. Midas, on the other hand, just knew that Celia was a magnet for crazy things.

Though her soul was cleansed, and no Will was favoring her, Celia still found herself in crazy situations. This was evident in how Celia gained so much power in a short period. And, frankly, this was what Midas feared, and why she let Celia age a bit first before letting such things happen to her.

Midas: “Goblin Champions do not talk, so just be silent, or grunt if you need to.” She explained.

With that, the five flew down out of sight of the nest, and then walked into the illusion. Upon doing so, the Goblin guards almost instantly recognized them as Goblin Champions, and none of them tried to stop the four even slightly.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Wordlessly, Celia and the others explored further into the nest, finding it strange as can be. Despite obviously using the Adventurers as slaves, they weren’t treated too harshly.

Or rather, they were fed, clean, and decently healthy looking. Of course, judging from their depressed and empty eyes, they were still slaves at the end of the day.

  Later.

As they couldn’t talk to each other, the exploration was silent the entire time. Luckily, not even other Goblin Champions noticed their disguises, and they easily made it deep into the actual nest.

Midas: “Celia, stay by my side.” She urged, grabbing Celia’s hand.

Celia: “…” “At this point, I feel more like a helpless child than an Adventurer.” She thought with a small sigh.

Further into the nest, which was an expansive cave, soon, there was no sight or sound of any Goblins, Champions or otherwise. It was quiet, and the rocky dark cavern gave way to an ornate dungeon.

This new area wasn’t something that mere Goblins could construct, requiring at least a Goblin Lord, and also vast amounts of Coin. How else could one acquire such luxurious building materials?

Ria: “Are we about to stumble upon some grand conspiracy, Lady Midas?” She asked, already prepared to flee with Celia, if needed.

Midas: “The walls are kept clean, not a speck of dust. Maids, as Goblins would be too clumsy, must keep it clean. I do not sense automatic Cleaning Magic, either… Yet, I can’t detect weak maids, or even the mastermind behind this setup.” She replied, not sure of anything.

As they continued into the underground castle, Midas secretly placed Teleportation Magic on the others. This was a failsafe, put in place so that, if someone strong appears, who Midas can’t fight easily, she can send them away to safety. Midas just hoped that nothing like that would occur…
