Volume 8. Chapter 24: Setting Lines In The Sand. (Chapter 725.)

Chapter 24: Setting Lines In The Sand.

The princess abruptly, but gracefully, took her place in front of Celia. The girl was sitting at a tea table, drinking tea, and Carma now sat opposite of her. Skillfully, in an effort to recover their reputation in the eyes of Carma, the maids quickly set up tea and sweets for her as well.

Carma: “Lady Celia… no, we’re sisters now. Celia should do just fine. Anyhow, as a royal, you mustn’t…” She got cut off here.

Ria: “Lady Carma, Lady Celia easily picked up noble etiquette, with a proper, respected princess demeanor. It is us, the maids, who’re at fault in this regard.” She admitted, deeming to bear the brunt of the princess’s anger.

Carma: “I see…” She replied with a thinking pose.

In truth, the princess wasn’t upset that the maids had dressed Celia up. Rather, Carma’s anger is from not being there to witness it, only able to indulge in Celia’s current cute attire.

Carma: “Very well. Either way, dues must be paid. Ria, you’re demoted from head maid, and will be Celia’s personal maid henceforth.” She ordered.

Ria: “I thank you for such a light punishment, Princess Carma!” She bowed gratefully in response.

Celia: “…” “She was the head maid?!” She thought with a shocked tone.

Already seeing Celia as a sister, Carma was quite protective. After all, Celia did, in fact, save her life just a week ago. If only she knew that… Carma had given Ria to Celia, a position where the maid will always be around her, unaware that Ria was Celia’s wife in her past life…

Celia: “Will the Felta Empire still seek our deaths, Carma?” She asked with a curious tone.

Carma: “We haven’t seen or heard their response yet… Though, we’ve spread those Viewing Crystals all over this kingdom, and the neighboring kingdoms.” She replied with an unsure tone.

Lem: “Currently, we have also sent out Viewing Crystals to the Empire directly. For them to act against us in the light of day… would cause everyone to war against them, perhaps even with their own people.” She added, more confident than her charge.

Celia: “Does that mean I can finally leave this place?” She replied with an excited expression.

  Carma And Lem: “…”

Instantly, all in the room wanted to say no to Celia’s question. Each person here wished to never see, nor let their newly precious Celia, be in danger, even slightly. But keeping her locked up was wrong, and Carma had no way to argue against this, as, she too, was a free soul, usually traveling outside of her kingdom.

Ria: “Lady Celia, I think that, until you’re at least Level 50, you should stay in the castle. We won’t restrict your movement to this room any longer, rest assured.” She tactfully proposed, winning silent praise from the others present.

Celia: “Hm? But, from killing Herm, I made it to Level 92.” She replied with a confused head tilt.
