Volume 8. Chapter 27: Preventing The Worst. (Chapter 728.)

  Chapter 27: Preventing The Worst.

Ria’s vision was soon covered in red, Celia’s blood splashing all over her, including the maid’s beautiful face. Wordlessly, unable to comprehend this scene in a reasonable timeframe, due to her shock, Ria held the now unconscious Celia.

Disguised Butler: “Your charge sacrificed herself for you? How truly pitiful.” He scoffed, before getting ready to flee.

  Throw!

Ria: “Attempting to kill a royal princess… Your punishment will not be light, fool!” She angrily exclaimed, throwing dagger after dagger at the man.

Disguised Butler: “Dammit!” He yelled, clicking his tongue in pain.

Unable to dodge each dagger, having to block them, several embedded themselves into the man’s arm. Blood seeped down, and the man, an assassin directly serving the Felta royal family, was losing control of his body. “Poison knives?!” He thought with an angry tone.

The assassin was only Level 60, decently below Ria’s own. He obviously obtained insider info about Princess Celia’s Level, as the man was armed with an enchanted sword, which could kill the young princess.

With it, even at a lower Level, Celia would die by his hands. Unfortunately for him, Celia’s clothes had far stronger enhancements, allowing her to survive. That sword was expensive, and single-use only, shattering after cleaving a large cut through the front of Celia’s torso.

Right now, with Celia unconscious on the floor, the assassin’s only care was escaping this situation with his life, actually assuming that his target had been fully slain.

  Gut!

  Disguised Butler: “…”

Impaled from behind, Carma’s skilled sword effortlessly piercing through his heart… the assassin couldn’t speak, merely spitting up blood.

As the princess walked in front of the dying, now kneeling man, he smugly smiled. Clicking her tongue, Carma then cut his head off, not caring about an interrogation. After all, even a fool would know who sent this man to kill her sister…

Carma: “Celia!” She exclaimed with a sad tone and expression, rushing over to her sister.

With Ria’s help, Celia was now slumped up against one of the regal walls. Her attire’s intention right now was healing Celia’s HP, so the blood, and damage to itself, was left alone. As such, Celia looked absolutely horrid, the wound still present, blood everywhere.

Ria: “Please… Princess, I must be…” She got cut off once more.

Carma: “How did this happen? Could you truly not even protect her from a mere, worthless Felta assassin?!” She angrily asked.

Ria: “It is my fault… I… I-I was too distracted by Celia. So cute… By the time I noticed the assassin, My Lady had already taken the attack for me, saving my life.” She answered, tears streaming down her face.

  Carma And Lem: “…”
