Chapter 34: Not What She Expected...
Ria: “Lady Celia, are you comfortable?” She asked with a smile.
Celia: “…Yes.” She deadpanly replied.
Regardless of how dangerous this quest was, Celia’s group didn’t wish to hold the young girl back at all. But that didn’t mean… they’d accept it so lightly.
Carma: “Celia is fine in your arms, Ria. There is no need to ask her every ten minutes…” She said with a groan, annoyed that Ria wouldn’t give her a turn.
Lem: “…”
Midas: “…”
Yes, unable to go out by herself, Celia was joined by Carma, Ria, Lem, and even Midas. All just to kill a Goblin Champion… this group was, as anyone would expect, far too overkill for this quest.
Midas: “It’s been a while since I’ve killed a Goblin Champion.” She said, hoping to steer the conversation away from Celia’s maid holding her like a toddler.
Celia: “Oh? Come to think of it… I haven’t seen a Goblin before. Are they as ugly as I think, and been told, they are?” She replied with a curious head tilt, looking at Midas.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
Carma: “Normal Goblins are short, somewhat lanky, and smell horrible. Goblin Champions, one Evolution away from a Goblin Lord, aren’t typically ugly. They even care about their hygiene, to an extent.” She answered in the Guild Leader’s stead.
Celia: “…That would mean they’re smart, and like a person, wouldn’t it?” She replied, nervously.
Even while secretly protected by Midas, Celia knew how monstrous Goblins are. From her incomplete knowledge of them, Celia had no problem with killing normal Goblins, or higher Evolution of their specie’s line.
From hearing Carma’s words, Celia now felt uncomfortable, no longer willing to take on this quest. After all, she wasn’t even able to kill a wolf, let alone a fully aware, and intelligent, humanoid-like being…
Midas: “Goblin Lords are people, and it is against the law to mistreat them, let alone hunt their race. 100% of the time, they leave their nest, and enter into a normal society.” She explained, seeing Celia’s reluctance.
Celia: “And Goblin Champions?” She replied, hoping for her to continue.
Midas: “Enough research was done to prove that, beyond any shadow of a doubt, they’re still monsters like Goblins. In fact, they’re crueler, and truly evil. So, you shouldn’t feel any remorse when killing one.” She added with a coaxing tone.
A Goblin would see a female of any humanoid species, and wish to rape them and make more offspring. But, Goblin Champions… are the ones who kidnap and lock up females, turning them into breeding stock.
Carma: “Rather, Celia, be prepared to have your vision blocked by one of us. We agreed to you going on this quest, but there are some things which you shouldn’t witness.” She informed with a serious expression and tone.
Meekly, Celia just nodded. Why? Because those around her all seemed to go along with Carma’s words. Besides, Celia could guess what they didn’t want her to see, and the young girl wasn’t in any hurry to stain her eyes with such filth while still so young…
