After another 3 days of surveying the surroundings, walking along the wall with a minimum of another dozen layers of ugly shielding by Xania, each layer getting uglier due to her increasing laziness.
“Well, if you ignore the shields, the rainbow reflection looks pretty,” She muttered, looking around before attempting to leave.
“No,” Anise suddenly appeared, grabbing Xania’s tail.
“Hey, could you like stop targeting my tail? It’s innocent,” Xania said, pulling her tail away.”
“No, it annoys me to see you playing around with it like a child,” Anise said, grabbing her tail again.
“...”
“Why didn’t you just set up a massive shield around the kingdom? You did analyze the world tree’s barrier didn’t you?” Anise asked, annoying Xania.
“I wanted to! But…” Xania glanced away, her voice trailing off as she felt reluctant to tell Anise.
“But?”
“But I was already using the normal shields and a sudden big one would make it look uglier,” Xania said, finishing her sentence.
“Don’t worry, I’ve got the perfect solution, just give me some mana,” Anise said, confusing Xania as to what she wanted to do.
“Ok?” She complied, gabbing Anise’s wrist as she transferred some mana to her.
“So, what no—” Xania asked, getting interrupted as Anise aimed her staff at the shield, shooting in a 360 degrees and destroying every shield except the ones hidden behind the castle.
“Thanks for making them so weak, that felt satisfying. Now go and make a proper shield instead of a weak pathetic one,” Anise gently smacked Xania with her staff.
“That wasn’t cool! Don’t you know how long it took for me to—!” Xania shouted, stopping as Anise teleported away.
“Fine!” She shouted once again, deciding to comply as she started preparing a massive shield around the kingdom.
She failed the first attempt, followed by her second and third due to not having taken the time to properly try the shield out ever nor the patience to even try to analyze it properly whenever she went to the elf kingdom.
“What a pain!” She shouted, continuing to try for hours before teleporting to the elves' kingdom to check out the shield.
“Ah, miss Xan—” The queen said as Xania suddenly appeared in front of her, stopping as Xania teleported away back to the kingdom's walls.
“And… She just left, I’m still a queen.”
Xania tried making another shield as she failed again but nearly succeeded, finally succeeding on the second try.

“Finally! Xania celebrated, teleporting some biscuits from the kitchen onto her hands as she prepared to eat.
As she ate the biscuit, her tail was suddenly forcefully tugged again, surprising her and nearly causing her to choke.
“My lord, your barrier sucks,” Anise muttered softly into Xania’s ear, shocking her.
“When the hell did you get here?” She swallowed, using wind magic to force the food down.
“Ok, you're weird for doing that and your barrier sucks,” Anise fired a couple of weak fireballs at the shield's weak spots, causing it to shatter with ease as shards of the shield rained down before turning back into non-solidified mana once again and dissipating.
“Right, and you had to destroy it due to what?” Xania asked with annoyance, watching as her hard work shattered.
“Go study the shield again, and do it properly! I don’t care how bad you are at elven magic!” Anise shouted, teleporting back to work on the core.
“I hate you!” Xania shouted despite knowing Anise couldn’t hear her.
“Fine! You want me to do it properly?” Xania quickly teleported to the world tree, the elven queen still there.
“Oh, miss Xania why have you returned? Are you here to ignore me once again?” She asked with sarcasm, tilting her head up in confusion as Xania pouted while pointing at the tree, unwilling to speak.
“Huh?” She asked, watching as Xania poorly imitated the shield.
“You want me to teach you how to make the shield?” She watched as Xania quickly nodded, grabbing her hands as she did so.
“Can’t you just learn it yourself? I thought you were especially talented in magic circles?” The queen watched as Xania quickly shook her head and looked at her with oddly desperate eyes.
“She looks so much like a child… Especially with her height,” She thought to herself before sighing.
“If you want then of course I can help since you protected us before this is no problem,” She reluctantly agreed, pulling her hand away from Xania.
“So, show me your shield again,” She said, sitting down on the ground cross-legged as Xania sat in front of her.
The queen watched as Xania poorly imitated it, the shield being much weaker than a normal shield while using a lot more mana too.
“Oh… This is going to take a while,” The queen muttered softly, forgetting that Xania has much superior hearing, annoying her.
(}-----A while later-----{)
“Alright, it's already been a couple of hours, this is as far as you’re going to get today but still, this is the peak of elven magic so it’s still great progress,” The queen said, forcing a smile despite her burnt hair from all the explosions due to Xania’s failed attempts from overuse of mana.
“T-thanks…” Xania said, genuinely grateful for the queen's help as she glanced away, embarrassed due to always treating and thinking of the queen poorly.
“Well, if you’re so thankful, how about visiting and helping about more often?” The queen asked hopefully, forcing the biggest smile she could.
“Uh… I’ll consider it?” Xania asked, backing up before teleporting away.
“Dammit.”
Xania quickly used what she learned, concentrating for a few minutes before materializing a shield strong enough to handle a couple of attacks with divinity from normal soldiers.
“Alright, it isn’t anywhere as strong as the other one but it works!” Xania celebrated as she jumped around before accidentally falling off the wall, teleporting herself back on moments before landing into a thorny bush.
Anise suddenly teleported in front of her as she looked at the shield before turning to Xania puffing her chest out proudly.
“I suppose it’s decent enough,” Anise said, refraining from insulting Xania despite having hoped for a stronger shield.
“What do you mean ‘decent enough’?!” Xania shouted angrily, “`You couldn’t even make a stronger one than I just did!”
“I could but I lack mana from researching the weapon you want,” Anise argued back softly.
Xania finally got angry enough, tackling Anise down as Anise tried pulling her tail to get her off of herself.
Xania suddenly got picked up as she struggled angrily, turning around to find Davien.
“What do you want?!” Xania shouted, noticing Davien sigh through his skull of a head, covered in fire.
“I’m not good with calming down an argument, though I think I have a solution,” He said, dropping Xania as she pulled out a scroll with a magic circle, tearing it and activating it, teleporting them away.
